MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The wheels are falling off the Jets. And now their two team leaders are starting to go at it.

Just before halftime in Sunday's 27-23 loss to the Dolphins, which dropped the Jets' record to 3-6, CBS cameras caught quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and receiver Brandon Marshall jawing with each other on the sideline. Marshall eventually walked off, escorted by cornerback Buster Skrine.

You can watch the video below.

It did not escalate from there. After the game, Fitzpatrick brushed things off and said there was "nothing to read into." Marshall added things just "got a little heated."

For the majority of Sunday's game, the Jets' offense was stagnant. They struggled again in the red zone (1 for 5), allowed regular pressure on Fitzpatrick, and failed to get much of anything going in the passing game despite playing a poor Dolphins secondary

Ugly? Frustrating? Maddening? Sure, but it was also more of the same. Marshall seemed to indicate his spat with Fitzpatrick stemmed from the fact the offense, which set team records a year ago, has been flat the majority of this year.

"We're here to produce, and this falls on him and me," Marshall said. "We have got to make plays. It's part of the ballgame. There was so much on the line today, every single game. When you're sitting at 3-5, every single play counts. Every single drive counts."

Things didn't exactly get better for the Jets after Marshall and Fitzpatrick's intensified talk. They struggled just as much in the third and fourth quarters.

In the second half, the Jets' offense managed to score just 10 points, turned it over twice (two Fitzpatrick interceptions, one in the red zone), and went three-and-out on their final possession of the game.

Fitzpatrick finished the game 17 of 28 and threw for 193 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He had a quarterback rating of 63.5 Marshall caught six passes for 45 yards.

"It's just frustrating," Marshall said. "This falls on Fitz and I. This whole year falls on Fitz and I. We're the leaders on that side of the ball, and we're not getting it done.

"It's extremely disappointing to be in this situation. That falls on myself, and it falls on Fitz."

The pass was a Nolan Ryan fastball that needed to be an Al Leiter changeup. Fitzpatrick is totally lost with his passing this year. I have seen so many back shoulder throws thrown way too hard and right to the defender who fell off. In other words Fitzpatrick is hurting the team and Chan Gailey is helping him do it. Gailey cannot bring himself to understand that Fitz is lost, so he continues to treat him like Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady. Those are QB's who demand trust because they have produced in the clutch moments that Fitz wilts in.

Nope just anything that proves Fitzpatrick is a bum like the loss today I'm angrier than hell how about you.

You clearly aren't angry

But if you think arguing over the Internet about who's angrier would be a good diversion for the fact you're celebrating after an abysmal embarrassing loss ... then have at it.

Saying you're mad is empty, when you do so only when called out for throwing a party that Fitz was awful again, making you 'right'.

Nobody has wanted Fitz to start for weeks. You aren't irking anyone, so all that's left is the glee you have over the loss.

You're a terrible fan.

You are a terrible person and fan scraping the bottom of the barrel to defend yourself.

I have nothing to defend.

I never made the stupid arguments based on hyperbole and hypothetical data in favor of Gino. And I never made the stupid arguments in favor of Fitz, Insisting he was anything other than what he was. I only interjected in the arguments to point out where bad logic was being used in absurd ways, and then made jokes.

And I'm certainly not the one now, who within minutes of a  loss to our biggest rival, begin grandstanding over the fact that the quarterback sucked and looking for personal validation.

That's you.

Marshall: "Hey Ryan, maybe you shouldn't intently stare at me for three seconds before throwing the ball to me. It kind of clues the other team in on who you're going to throw to."

Fitzpatrick: "I still believe in myself, even when the coaches and GM don't..."

Bowles: "I grew my beard for today because I think it'll help us win..."

Marshall: "umm, ok Ryan, how about this? When you're in the red zone, maybe you should look for a wide open wide receiver like Quincy, rather than throwing the ball in random directions. It will probably lead to yet another red zone pic?"

Fitzpatrick: "I still believe in myself, even when the coaches and GM don't..."

Bowles: "Has anyone noticed that I grew my beard for today's game? I think it will help us win..."

Marshall: "You're pissing me off, Ryan. Can you at least hand the ball off to Matt once in a while in the second half so we can get some yards?"

Fitzpatrick: "I still believe in myself, even when the coaches and GM don't..."

Bowles: "I grew my beard out today. What do you think...?"

Didn't say you were an IK supporter. I suppose a 'scuffle' tho with BM and Fitz was a positive and something to feel good about anyway.

Yeah, your outrage is justified.
