I hate BB too, but this is unreal

He would have been a great Jets coach. How different are our fortunes if Gutman tells Parcells to hit the road & gives Belichick the keys to the NY Jets?

I feel like Jet fans need to look into the mirror like Stuart Smalley & say "It's not our fault".

The incompetence & disappointment is all on Leon Hess & Woody Johnson. It always starts at the top. The decisions these men have made have unfortunately made our loyalties insigificant. We love the laundry of a team run by imbeciles.

If he had been miraculously lucky to stumble on Brady here too he would have been great

Otherwise he would have been fired after 2 as would have happened in Sucksboro had not Mo Lewis not saved his mumbling ass

Sorry, that's BS! BB is a great coach, he was turning the Browns around when they moved. Belichick is a football genius. Tom Brady would never have had the record he had in New England under Belichick if the Jets drafted him. Hell, he probably wouldn't have even played until 3 years later.

Bledsoe was not a horrible QB, BB stuck with Brady even when Bledsoe was healthy again & won a freaking Super Bowl. Do you remember that? Do you remember BBs decision to not sit on the ball & take his chances in overtime because the Rams were heating up? Our coach sits on the ball with 1:30 to go in the 1st half of regular season games, lmao!

I get that your biased but to not acknowledge Belichick as probably the best coach in the history of football is incredibly shortsighted. The dude went 11-5 when Brady was out for the year! A record that the Jets have had (over 10 wins) only 4 times in our entire HISTORY! 14 years IN A ROW of double digit wins! That stat is just ridiculous! Brady is a great QB but this Pats team has been made over everywhere else numerous times. That's the sign of a great coach.

Want a bigger ouch? With Parcells gone we probably would have had Manning, too.

Your right! Had Parcells promised Archie that the Jets would draft Payton there is NO WAY IN HELL Bekichick walks away from a team with a Franchise QB. Sickening.

No. That came in Parcells first draft with the Jets. He stayed four years as coach and front office person. No chance on Manning after that, he was already in year two.

I think his point was that if Parcells had promised to take Payton, Belichick probably would have stayed on as Jets head coach. Hell, if Parcells took Manning we probably would have won a Super Bowl at some point.

No one even wanted BB at that time.  Everyone made fun of us and laughed that we would put up with him as our HC.  Its nice to rewrite history today given what we now know but it was a different world back then, had nothing to do with incompetents or imbeciles

so why is this play awesome?  does rappoport realize that the bellichicken was a navy gym rat when he father coached at navy?  ask the bellichicken to diagram a knute rockne play and he probably couldn't.  this doesn't take away from his coaching ability just that they asked him something that he really should know.

NFLN had a special about the old AFL a few years back, and Bellichick was among those interviewed. When he wants to talk about something when he's comfortable that there is no issue with his team, he can be very engaging and insighful. For a scumbag, of course.

He would have been THE greatest Jet coach (not saying that much - though we did win a SB - but still).
