The Vinny TD against Seattle in 1997-8 season. That was a classic, and for once, helped us.

That play had no bearing on how our season played out. Win or lose we would have had the same playoff seeding. The 1997 horrible interception call against the Lions, cost us the playoffs.

Agreed, but  this thread was about worst calls of all time. That call would certainly rank in the top of such a list, regardless of whether or not it impacted a playoff spot.

It was a horrible call and it cost the Seattle Seahawk HC, Dennis Erickson,  his job.

The Testeverde touchdown call was so bad it became the posterboy for replay

No, 4 years of never winning more than 8 games got him fired and while the Vinny call was awful it came right after an awful call helped Seattle.  Keyshawn caught what should have been ruled a TD when he was shoved out of bounds in the air but they called it incomplete out of bounds.
