Is he?  I get the feeling Zach doesnt really care much about this.

I think if he gets cut, he will move on, find something else to do with his life and not be that upset that the nfl thing didnt work out.

He stopped caring once he realized he wasn’t an NFL qb.  That was 2 years ago

This is it! Zach Wilson's big chance! Now you will see! He will show you all!

Geno Smith injured, out indefinitely at Seahawks training camp. Sam Howell QB1 for now

Supposedly Geno is fine though they are awaiting tests.  Howell is a way better player anyway

Sean Payton: Zach, buddy, listen, I’m sorry but we’re gonna have to move on…

Zach: Oh no, man. That’s too bad!

Payton: I just gotta ask, though. Is that your fully-loaded U-Haul in the parking lot? With the engine running?

Zach: Haha what?

Do you think he’ll spend his time in Utah waterskiing on a lake or buy the ranch in Tennessee?

Yup.  He will get cut from Denver and not even think twice about.  He doesnt care.

I’ll say this for these dudes—it’s gotta be devastating to finally get to the pros and find out you can’t compete at that level. And to make it worse, you know that the team you went to is absolute clownshoes with a history of absolutely nuking the lives of young QBs. So, sure, maybe you just don’t have it upstairs and you were never going to be a player at this level, but at the same time it blows to fail and have an entire city and league laughing at you on the way out the door. Not giving a **** would be the ultimate cope.

Matt Leinart leads a rich and full life!

No doubt. He has a TV gig, right ?

the top 51 cutoff on an NFL teams cap is basically a million bucks.

Zach has the trust fund and stole $40 million from the Johnsons.   He’s good.

Zach did not steal anything.  He showed up to work everyday for 3 years and tried his best.  In any business, you get hired to do a job and if the results are not there, they eventually let you go.

Zach earned every penny he got form the NYJ.

A poor investment, yes.  Was it the right investment at the time, absolutely.

You swing and you miss.  It happens.  I mean, who were they supposed to take, Trey Lance?

Yes, but it’s what the two teams  did differently after colossal misses. 49ers invested even more into original pick  and cut bait ASAP and  the Jets kept their mistake and started him on and off for 3 seasons. It’s like the 49’ers divorce their wife and started banging a super model in two weeks. The Jets moved into the basement of the home they shared with their ex and cried themselves to sleep at night listening to her bang her new man upstairs.

Trey Lance was named the starter in 2022 and suffered a season ending injury in week 2. Garoppolo took over and started through week 13 where he suffered an injury. Purdy took over for the final 5 games and played very well.

The one thing the Niners did correctly was making Lance the #2 his rookie season. But they annointed him the starter for year 2 even though he wasn't the best QB in camp.

The Niners were extremely fortunate to find Purdy with the Mr. Irrelevant pick. That really saves their asses because they traded a top of draft capital to move up and take a guy who is absolutely terrible at QB.

and to think what could have been.....  the 49ers would have gladly traded up to #2.  [sigh]

Absolutely and they probably would have drafted Wilson. There is no question that the best move for the Jets would have been trading out of that spot and sticking with Darnold one more year.
