Remember all the people mad we didnt draft this kid? lol

His production improved every year over his first three seasons as a pro.  Had 304 yds in year one, 597 in year two and 839 in year three.  Production dipped last year but definitely young enough to bounce back.

This guy had himself a great game against our backup's backups at the weekend.

If he wants to join a team that's going places, he should join our PS rather than the Giants' one - he wouldn't even have to move house.

That is shocking. He was all over the field on Saturday playing with a very high motor.

Patsies have cut Zappe : https://www.nfl.com/news/patriots-releasing-qb-bailey-zappe-after-two-seasons

Makes an interesting side note about the 2022 QB draft class ...

Quote

The Western Kentucky product is the latest quarterback in a doomed '22 draft class to move on from their original team. Zappe joins Kenny Pickett (first round), Desmond Ridder (third), Malik Willis (third), Matt Corral (third), Sam Howell (fifth) and Chris Oladokun (seventh) as quarterbacks drafted in 2022 who have been traded or released by their original squads. The only two QBs remaining on the teams that drafted them are seventh-rounder Skylar Thompson with the Miami Dolphins and Brock Purdy, who the San Francisco 49ers selected with the final pick of the draft.

Only two 7th rounders are still with the team that drafted them 2 years later. That's rough.

Bears released QB Brett Rypien.

Rypien impressed at the Hall of Fame game earlier this month, completing 11-of-15 passes for 166 yards and three touchdowns. Unfortunately, that strong outing wasn’t enough to unseat Tyson Bagent, who will get a chance to back Caleb Williams in his rookie campaign. In 10 regular season games, Rypien has thrown for 950 yards, four touchdowns, and nine interceptions. Rypien is free to sign with another team and could end up on a practice squad in the coming days.

    Cowboys released DE Carl Lawson.
Lawson signed with the Cowboys two weeks ago. Per ESPN’s Todd Archer, they may opt to keep Lawson on the practice squad for the time being, but other teams will have a chance to sign him. Lawson has played in 74 games while making 31 starts and has 27 sacks to his name, along with 28 TFLs. At just 29 years old, it’s possible he finds another team immediately in need of his services and avoids hanging around on a practice squad.

    Lions released QB Nate Sudfeld.
The release of Sudfeld means Hendon Hooker has presumably one the Lions’ backup quarterback job. Sudfeld was a sixth-round pick by the Washington football franchise in 2016 and was in the middle of a Week 17 controversy in 2020 when then-Eagles head coach Doug Pederson subbed out Jalen Hurts in favor of Sudfeld in a game the Eagles trailed by just three points. Washington ended up winning the game, with Pederson saying after that he thought it was a good time to give him an opportunity to get in some reps. Sudfeld has thrown for 188 yards, one touchdown, and one interception for his career. He hasn’t thrown a regular-season snap since his infamous outing with the Eagles.

    Vikings waived RB Kene Nwangwu.
Limited to 33 career touches on offense, 2021 fourth-rounder Nwangwu is a return man who still couldn’t save his roster spot despite the league’s new kickoff rules. Perhaps this is a procedural move and Nwangwu will be brought back after final cuts.

    Texans released WR Quintez Cephus.
Cephus was signed as veteran depth on the eve of training camp. Still somehow only 26 years old, Cephus has caught just three balls since the 2021 season.

    Bills released S Mike Edwards.
The veteran defensive back appeared in all 17 games for the Chiefs last season. He will probably be one of the first safeties up on the workout circuit.

Bailey Zappe would make a nice #3 on the PS. He might get claimed off waivers for someone's 53, though.

Someone will likely pick him up ... too many teams with questions at #2, never mind #3. Chargers spring to mind - how much faith do you have in Easton Stick to tide you over if Herbert gets hurt for a game, or even a half?

Figures... With all your great takes

The majority of my takes are pretty well spot on, most people on here are cowards that will never endorse or criticisze a move or player.   I'll take the hits when I'm wrong, I'll be accountable, unlike the sunshine squaders on this site

  • Texans released WR Noah Brown.

28-year-old veteran Brown caught 33 balls for 567 yards and two scores a season ago but is a predictable roster casualty of the Texans’ receiver riches. Coming off back-to-back 500-yard campaigns, Brown will undoubtedly land a new deal as an experienced depth option before Week 1.

#Texans releasing quarterback Tim Boyle per a league source. Had a good preseason
@KPRC2

Of course he did, like all these guys being waived according to these reporters (aka as agent of the players waived)

Grant Cohn @grantcohn

The 49ers currently are $38.9 million over the cap for 2025 and that's not counting a potential Brandon Aiyuk extension, a potential Brock Purdy extension and a potential Trent Williams renegotiation.

wow...worth a flyer?  Might not even make it to #10 on the waiver claim order..The new regime in Carolina didn't pick him..

Jeremy Fowler @JFowlerESPN

Source: #Panthers are releasing WR Terrace Marshall.

Former second-round pick had a strong camp and should be good waiver option.

I belive he was the one who threw the football at Reed. So not sure he'd be welcomed ;)

The #Packers also waived rookie QB Michael Pratt, per source.

So two QBs now on the roster: Jordan Love and Malik Willis.

Is Pratt the Tulane guy?

Yep. Was hoping we would have drafted him

The Packers cut both Sean Clifford and Pratt after trading for Willis.

Guess that battle for the backup job didn't go as Green Bay hoped.

I liked Pratt in the draft too, was surprised he was drafted as late as he was.

Sam Hartmann was cut by the Commanders and Michael Pratt was cut by the Packers.  I think there were posters here that wanted Hartmann and some wanted Pratt.  Any interest in the Jets signing one of them as the #3 QB?
