Sperm Edwards
James Laurinaitis, after trading down 2 spots to pick up a 3rd rounder. But I wouldn't be surprised to see them take Jake Long with a top 3-5 pick, because there are a bunch of good RT prospects that can be had much lower. Therefore I think there's a good chance they will stupidly take one too early.
rillo
Depending on the pick....I'm thinking they'll trade out, too many holes to fill.
SoFlaJets
JAKE LONG we need O-lineman and from what I'm hearing he's the best one coming out...I know it's not the sexy pick a lot of guys want but if we improve our OL then we improve the whole team. A good OL makes your running game better-it makes your passing game better-it makes your defense better by giving them time to recuperate on the sidelines between drives. I hope the Jets go this way with their first pick.
RSJ
DARREN MCFADDEN Even though I do not think he will be an effective every down back in the NFL his speed, height and versatility make him the best playmaker in this class. My thoughts are that the Jets will draft him and use him as a Richie Anderson type but as a RB. He will line up at WR, RB and even QB - but never carry the load at RB. A playmaker like this is something the Jets haven't had in a very, very long time. RUN DMC and Glenn Dorsey are the only picks projected in the top 10 that give the Jets both need and value. SoFlaJets
You are aware we invested in D'Brick at LT, neither is moving to RT I'm afraid. he is going to be playing RT for us. You know the most ridiculous argument I've read on the boards for NOT drafting Long is that we used 2 1st round picks two years ago on offensive lineman. Some people think it is crazy to "waste" another one on an O-lineman. I don't understand that logic. Everybody has seen perhaps THE worst OL in the history of the NFL this year lined up in green and white-we NEED this guy...

If he was built like Levi Jones - a pile of mass with quick feet - then I'd agree. But Long isn't a RT. He's a LT who's built like a LT. Same with D'Brick. There are players who will be available a round later (read: don't leave it for a mid/late round pick) who will fill the void at RT just as aptly. We don't need yet another OT that needs to put on 15 lbs. 313 lbs isn't that massive (anymore) for a guy who's 6'7.

NIGHT STALKER
Sorry, but I think you guys that are picking McFadden are just nuts...how much money do you want to tie up into our RB position where we have so many holes to fill? Chris Long or maybe Calais Campbell if he keeps on moving up the boards.

NIGHT STALKER
I got my money on the NT from LSU. Phins will take McFadden. No way the fins take McFadden unless they trade Ronnie Brown in a package to the Browns for Derek Anderson. Picking McFadden straight up goes against everything Parcells has ever preached about picking a RB in the first round.
KSJets
Why pin all of our hopes on a rookie OLman again? There IS free agency. Hopefully we can get some FA OL in here first, and then we'll have more options in the draft.

Sperm Edwards
There are also a few good free agent RT's. Coaching is also a part of this OL mess. I'd have to agree with this. Even if it was a mediocre RT FA like Starks. The difference between him & Long I don't think is worth burning a top 3-5 pick on. Or a guy like Oher at the top of round 2, though he's creeping into the late first round in some mocks now. Either way, I don't really like a RT built like a LT when we already have a smallish RG. May not turn out to be the worst thing possible, but I wouldn't spend such a high pick to get it.
jets rooter
trade down for extra picks and draft andre woodson.clemens is too short and cannot see the field behind his offensive line.woodson is 6-5 and has a cannon for an arm + he is very accurate.this draft is heavy with very good juniors.so there is a lot to choose from. Sperm Edwards
what did parcells give up for cmart? First and a third. But the first rounder was #18 I think. A far cry from #1. And that #1 guy is getting a $60M deal this year with $30M guaranteed. With Ronnie Brown already on the team for big bucks, I doubt this happens. NIGHT STALKER
NS why would Cle want Brown, when lewis had a great year? Cleveland trade Anderson for Brown???? That's not going to happen. Well, for one thing Lewis is getting up there in years for a RB. Secondly, the fins need a QB and the Browns have two. Perhaps maybe Quinn and the 53rd pick in the draft for Brown and Roth and the fins pick McFadden. But, no way are fins taking McFadden without making some other moves...Parcells won't do it. L.I.MikeBleedsGreen
Well I hope they draft some Talented players for the Offense,We need help bad on Offense (we need to score more Points) to compete with the teams in the AFC.Our D is not that bad and we can fix that through FA. But I feel that we need more Playmakers on Offense to be the team that everyone wants to see take the field for the 2008 season.
124
Chris Long - No, too little for the 34 in the NFL. Darren McFadden - No, because no running back will run for 4+ ypc behind this line and he is frankly, over-rated. Jake Long - I like him, but a RT that early? I don't know. Quentin Groves - Just right. 34 OLB pass rushing specialist. or James Laurinaitis- ILB to team up with David Harris. Big Ten Beasts.
