Not that we should believe anything he said, but during his weepy press conference didn't he say that he enjoyed playing the game.. but he didn't enjoy training camp/practice/meetings.. if the JETS would ever make a move on him shouldn't the fans question his commitment to learn a new system, a rough training camp, and endless meetings?

What makes you think he'll mentor Clemens when he didn't even mentor Rodgers?

i have a theory, brett never liked Aaron, he saw him a a threat. The packers drafted him to replace brett.

whereas if he came to the Jets he knows he's the starter and he might be more receptive to teaching KC because the only way KC would start is once Favre retired

No I am not kidding and not trying to be funny either. I am dead serious.

Favre is not going to retire like this. He still wants to play, just not for the Packers.

Get rid of the noodle. Sign Favre, start Favre and in the process have him mentor Clemens for a year or 2. This is the kind of move that would make us serious contenders.

Great sign an old guy who is reckless to replace the old guy who is conservative...

Thats just what the JETS need... :shutit:

Come on, you can't compare a rookie QB in Rodgers to a vet in Favre.

There was never a threat, I just don't think he cares about the organization after he leaves.

Farve led the NFL in INT's... there was a threat.... unless the coach was a puppet moron...

Yeah ecurb, he also leads the NFL in all-time games played consecutivley by anybody not a Kicker or Punter, Touchdowns and Yardage. Yeah so what if he led the league in INT's? He played and started more than most and he took chances.

Favre turned it around in 2007, all be it on a better team, and is still a good Quarterback. He's 10x better and more proven than anyone else we have on this roster.

If Favre comes here, he'll just get hurt in the first game anyway. It's the Jets' luck.

Yup. After beefing up the o line and signing an honest to goodness fullback to play smash mouth, run the ball down the field football we're going to let a bombs away pick prone QB run the O. Riiiiiight. ;)

With opinions like this, sometimes I wonder how Herm ever got run out of NY. That's Hermball to a T:****ty QB, and run all day. Herm's philosophy is defense and run the ball all the time. According to many posters, that's all you need to win an SB every year.

I do think running the ball during the regular season isn't a bad idea. I also think it's great to have a power running game for the Super Bowl. But pretty much anything in between, and if you're serious about being a top seed, you're probably gonna need someone better than Chad at the helm, and Favre certainly was that, and still is. I don't care how old Favre is, he will ALWAYS have a better arm than Chad. Favre could be in a wheelchair and I'd still bet on his arm over Chad's.

EDIT- If Favre would cost NOTHING to get, and wanted to play here, which he doesn't and he won't, I'd say take him probably. I don't have much faith in Clemens, and Chad makes me physically ill at this point, so we don't really have a better option. With Favre, we don't need this stupid QB competition at the very least.

Just cut Chad. We do not need Favre.

I'm sure Favre left GB, who was just in the NFC Championship Game, and who worships him like God almighty, so one Eric Mangini can put him in a QB competition with Chad Pennington and Kellen Clemens for a Jets team coming off a 4-12 season. And I'm sure the Jets are just dying to surrender draft picks to GB to compensate them for their starting, first-ballot HOF QB who was under contract for 3 more years.

Oh yeah. That's realistic.
