A top source in Washington, D.C., divulged that in mid-December "discussions were underway" involving those two government agencies about whether to launch a federal probe of the billionaire golfer. "They haven't pulled the trigger yet, but they smell blood in the water," the source said. "Their interest was heightened when they heard reports suggesting that Tiger may have been paying for high-class call girls. "It had already come out that Tiger's company may have paid for the travel of at least one of his girlfriends for a recent hookup in Australia. If Tiger is using company money to do it - and if illegal activity such as prostitution is taking place - then they're going to come down on him." Since it was revealed that Tiger was having with New York party girl Rachel Uchitel, reports have linked him to more than a dozen other women. IMO, if it had been 1 or 2, Elin would have forgiven him or been financially convinced to stay. But with these many women -- she has to divorce him to maintain a shred of dignity. ABC News reports that although Elin has made up her mind about ending her marriage, is "not rushing to divorce. She's going to take her sweet time. There's nothing to think about: he's never going to change." -- The Mirror reports that Tiger Woods' wife Elin Nordegren may be seeing celebrity lawyer Sorrell Trope as soon as next week. According to the article, "Elin is believed to be planning to file for divorce in California -- where the couple have a home -- and not Florida, where they live." Filing for divorce in California would increase the chances that the couple's property would be split evenly between the two. Nordegren was recently spotted without her wedding ring, and MSNBC's The Scoop quotes a source who says "she and Tiger are living separately now, but she'll be making this split very open and official right after Christmas." Meanwhile, a source tells TMZ that Nordegren is "very close" to signing a contract with Puma, a rival of Nike, the apparel company with which Woods has long been affiliated. This report comes as Woods is struggling to keep his sponsors. Both rumors follow a steady stream of new alleged mistresses that continues to grow.
