need to go over top a lot.. secondary stinks and will open up the run

This is B-Schotty we're talking about, he outsmarts his opponent by doing the opposite of what makes sense? You're strong in the front 7 and falling apart in the secondary? Nothing but runs up the gut and short throws over the middle. Why go deep? They'd expect that.

He's right to slide. You don't risk getting hit badly for a shot at an extra 4 points in the first half of the first game. They already have 3, and a first down doesn't guarantee a TD by a long shot.

Actually glad to see the slide no matter how badly I'd have liked a first down.

Completely agree. And if Sanchez doesn't slide right there he gets absolutely destroyed.

Yep. Why not throw a jump ball to BE in the end zone with 2 red zone trips?

True, but I do not think Lewis could have hit him on a low head first slide.

Dude he would have killed him.

If he slides head first he's fair game and not down by contact.

If he slides they way he did he gives himself up, and they can't hit him.
