Rex Ryan punches a wall in frustration

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- We already told you how agitated and upset Jets head coach Rex Ryan was after Thursday night's 27-25 loss to the Patriots, the team's sixth consecutive defeat.

But Ryan's visible anger wasn't just limited to his postgame press conference performance. Newsday's Kimberley A. Martin also watched as Ryan took out his frustration on a wall that happened to be recklessly situated near him. This is the lede to Martin's story:

Rex Ryan's face was full of fury and frustration.

He took a moment to compose himself in a near-empty hallway before he faced the cameras and the questions. But his emotions were just too real and too raw.

Without warning, he cursed under his breath and punched the wall, releasing all of his pent-up anger in one quick jab.

This is what six straight losses will do to you.

Oh, man. The mental image of Ryan punching a wall is just brutal. But we all know the wall was totally asking for it.

How is this news?

It is news, because usually, you expect leaders of anything to not exhibit behavior that can be deemed as reckless or immature.

If you are a leader, expectations are is that you you maturely process disappointment, channel it into its correct manner, and move on.

Same as giving the middle finger to a group of unruly fans of an opposing team. Leaders do not do what is at the whim of their emotions. Otherwise, those that are under you think it is appropriate, and you create a group of undisciplined misfits.

Thank god the Jets are not that.

Bob Kraft will be sending Woody the bill for repairs.

 $1500 ought to cover expenses.

lol

a leader would've told the locker room he was proud of them. that was a very good performance against a HOF Qb in a hostile environment. pretty tough to say that and have the guys believe it when you are punching walls.

:hand:

He thought he was alone in a hallway.

It's time to stop acting like everything this guy does is the worst thing ever in the history of the world.

Belichick let it be leaked that the Pats were going to play Revis on offense last night so they could throw a TD to him to show up the Jets. Had the Jets ever done anything remotely like that (which they haven't) the media would eviscerate them at the mere suggestion. Since it was the Pats it was cute and cheeky.

The coverage of this team has been beyond ridiculous. Do you really think Rex Ryan is the first NFL coach to punch a wall in frustration? Do you really think there aren't any Super Bowl winning coaches who have done far worse in front of their teams?

There are a lot of legit criticisms you can make of Rex Ryan. This smacks of piling on.

So suggesting someone will make a play out of a different position, is MUCH worse than naming iconic captains for a game for no reason.

Got it. I see where your gamesmanship ends-at homerism.

No, that's not the point I was making at all and you know it.

The POINT was had the Jets done what the Pats did, the media and the Rex haters like you and BP would be screaming to high heaven about how ******* terrible it was but when the Pats do it, it is taken in the spirit intended.

Now, GFY

What did the Pats do again? And why should we be upset?
