I'm sick and tired of reading how the Jets are garbage and totally devoid of talent. We are in the first year of an all out rebuild and with that being said We have a nice young secondary with 2 possible long term safeties that can disrupt offenses for years to come. We have some young corners who could very well pan out.

We have a good Group of WR's that are all young and hungry to get playing time. And its a very well rounded group.

We have 2 young TE's

and we have a decent O line Not great but certainly not horrid.

What I think we currently lack is LB's a Stud RB and I mean a real RB who can make defense crumble like a Elliot or a Bell or a Johnson. And of course we have a question mark at QB.

Now if a good portion of our young players finally step up and show promise and we one of the highly touted QB's in next years draft with 80 mil + to spend why in the hell are we so down and out on where we currently stand ? Because the Idiot media is stating the obvious on what we should expect this upcoming season ?

I say FCUK the Media  we have all seen teams turn it around rather qucikly in todays NFL and there is no reason we can't as well. If we get one of those QB's next year OR if by some miracle Hackenberg turns on a light with all his talent this team is going to be in pretty damn good shape.

There is only one single thing that scares me at this stage and that's Todd Bowles . Im fine with Macc who now seems to have the blessing of our Idiot owner to build a real football team and yes I'm 100 percent fine with the 2 safeties we drafted.

Browns say hi

Mm hmm. The fact remains that he left with among the worst rosters in the league. His drafting was beyond awful, and he passed on 3 legitimate starting QB's. Its pretty hard to defend, yet somehow, you do. Kudos.

No, he didn't. He had an easy out and executed it.

The Dolphins?  Who cares?

All I care about is the  demise  of the Dolphins. They will have a big test this year, let see how Tannehill reacts after his knee injury. I think Gase had a good first year and is good with his QB's. Let's see how they do with a tougher schedule, as last year they only beat 2 or 3 teams over .500. Fu*ck the Dolphins.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree.  This isnt year 1 of a rebuild, it's year 3 of a rebuild and the team is much worse today than it was 3 years ago.  The Jets have mediocre talent in all the non-premium positions and that's where they put the focus of the rebuild.

I too am super excited about the chances of having the ever so important super safety tandem but who the **** knows how good they're going to be...does Adams live up to the 6th overall pick?  Does Maye make you forget all the talent at premium positions the Jets passed on when they selected him?  Are the 2 rookie WR's even worthy of playing in the NFL? We dont have those answers but looking at what Big Mac has done so far, it's very fair to think they'll all disappoint.  As of right now, the Jets are putting their faith in 2 7th round pick WR's, a UDFA and 2 rookies with an injury history and they're 3rd and 4th round picks.  That's typically not a recipe for success but we'll see.

The DL is a mismatch and I have zero faith in the coaching staff figuring it out.  They have stiffs for pass rushers.  Darron Lee is a spectator.  They have nothing at CB but hope and 1 year rent vet who has a history of sucking.

The OL is meh.  Matt Forte is 75.  Bilal Powell is the model of consistency and a good all around player...but there is nothing on either fronts that you can point to the future and be happy about.

And then there's that kind of important position called a Quarterback and that whole situation is cluster **** of sh*t.

So yeah, it's pretty bad.

In two years, Idzik took the worst cap situation in the league and turned it into the best cap situation in the league, all the while being opposed by a cockroach head coach and his sycophants in the media. And betting on Geno in round two was a thousand times more defensible than drafting Hack in round two.

...and then Idzick completely $hit the bed with 12 draft picks.  The Jets won the salary cap Super Bowl though.

What? Over? Did you say "over?" Nothing is over until we we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!!

Not in the mood to be trolled over one of the worst executives in NFL history right now. No matter what the acclaimed SBN may have had to say at the time, any casual fan with access to Overthecap.com could've made the same moves and probably performed more coherently at a press conference.

$18 mil in dead cap space, 95% of his draft picks suck. Signing 40 year old crappy starting qb Clearly Macc knows what he's doing

This is a particularly odd tack to take at the moment, given the fact that Maccagnan's entire tenure here is basically what you would happen if you handed the reins to the average yutz from the upper deck.

All of these things can be simultaneously true about Idzik:

1. He never should have been hired.

2. The only reason he got the job was because it was so toxic that we were forced to interview bottom-of-the-barrel candidates.

3. Rex himself was so toxic to GM candidates that he couldn't even get another job without trying to directly bamboozle owners, circumventing team management. Arthur Blank faced a front office mutiny for even entertaining the idea and was bailed out by his mother's death, after which Rex and his agent snuck around Doug Whaley's back by flying to Florida to trick the Pegulas into giving him the Bills job.

4. Idzik's draft record was terrible.

As bad as Idzik was if he drafted Glennon over Geno he and Rex would both still be here

Which is fine, but it's part of the record. NoBowles said Idzik had a "clean slate." The fact is he inherited a bad coach and a bad cap situation.

Idzik sucked but blaming him 3 years after he was fired is asinine

It usually takes 3 - 5 years to fully evaluate a draft, except in Idzik's case where there is almost nobody left on the roster to evaluate.  you can pretty much say he sucked 2 years after, quite the embarrassment when you consider how many shots he had in the draft...

Tannenbaum's last draft and Idzik's two drafts should be the young nucleus of this team, instead, it's a lot of guys who aren't in the NFL any longer.

That said, Maccagnan seems to be operating by the seat of his pants with no overall plan in sight. He has his own issues.

Jets' coaches and GMs under Robert Wood Johnson III are a huge bumfight.

I don't disagree with one thing you said here, but above you wanted to give him credit for cleaning the cap, I said he deserved no credit for it, because he did what everyone would have done, and proceeded to shat the bed in every other way, except maybe not overpaying free agents.

When you work for the Jets, even doing the obviously smart thing is reason for applause.

Item 2 is everything that's wrong with Johnson having the coach and GM report to him independently. And he keeps making the same mistake. What ever else you can fault Maccagnan for, fair bet he wanted to play Hack and Petty once the season went to poop. And because he is not in charge of idiot Bowles, Fitzerception was allowed to keep playing,

I will forever be grateful to Idzik for ridding us of Rex. At the same time, I think it was his ineptitude more than an intentional plan. Had he drafted any of those 3 QB's, like he absolutely had to do after watching Geno play a year, he would have been a hero. In sports there is a fine line between hero and dud.

The day Idzik took the job, everyone should have realized he would absolutely suck. There was no way we were getting any candidate in here with the Rex mandate who was anything other than awful. The rest is mental masturbation to fat porn.
