Gutty Ryan would welcome firing if "Woody" doesn't fix offense. (From the YeahOKGuy Dept.)

In fairness clear when Mehta confronted Ryan with the story he denied it, and Mehta doens't have than anywhere in the story.

Pretty sad that the one guy arguably doing his best to the point that Rex brags about the defense is the guy kicking him in the shins. Ryan basicallyu extolls Pettine every week, and Pettine craps on everyone else. And perhaps Pettine is right. Week after week he puts a decent defense together despite clear weakness in the front 7 and Revis getting injured to watch the offense screw the pooch every week. Not surprisinh the defense got frustrated, but unprecedented for a defensieve coach to give voice to it.

Why are people talking like it's a fact Pettine is the mole? Because Mike Fransessser says so?

Stunning--STUNNING--that there's no PR guy on the campus who can at least mediate the idiocy that gets in front of the cameras down there. Not one guy.

Most impulsive organization in sports. Nobody ever around to just say, "hey, this is a bad idea." And it's 100% a reflection of the owner. This is a guy that got caught trying to deliberately swindle millions in taxes from the IRS and then looked a judge in the eye and blamed it on bad accounting advice.

Rex Ryan addressed a report about him wanting out in a team meeting Friday morning, telling Jets players he’s disgusted and that it was “all lies.”

A story published early Friday claimed, citing sources, that Ryan has been telling “anyone who will listen” that he’d be better off getting fired if Jets owner Woody Johnson isn’t willing to overhaul the team’s meager offense.

Two sources close to Ryan told The Post that the report had no validity at all.

Ryan has two years and more than $6 million remaining on his contract. This season has been trying with a three-headed quarterback controversy and the loss of key players like Darrelle Revis and Santonio Holmes to injuries. The Jets are 6-9 heading into their season finale with the Bills on Sunday.

So... yeah...

Starting to hate Manish. If it was just this one time, OK. But he has shown a pattern of doing this now, stirring up fake controversies with unnamed sources.

The amount of friendliness that players and coaches have with the press about internal issues is alarming and points directly at the lack of control the head coach has.

If you are the head coach, you squash these leaks and either silence the sources or get rid of them. Rex is seemingly unable to do this.

Rex is essentially neutered in areas of exerting authority. But in the pluss side Hard Knocks was entertaining.

Are you still going with the "REX IS THE SOURCE" claim or is it now PETTINES FAULT!!

That's why I like you guys.. your position is always changing to suit your agenda.

Indeed. Our agenda is to spin positions based on unnamed sources, and your argument for refuting this agenda is to frame a different position based on other unnamed sources. I can totally see why you're the only sane one here.

Keep telling yourself Manish Mehta is the only Jet beat writer who really knows what's going on.

You ever wonder why Cimini, Meyers, Costello, Orr, Vrentas etc etc etc never get these kind of scoops?

I used to like scoops...with queso. Now, not so much.

Who do you think is the source? Deepthroat?

Really at this point is there any of us that would be upset if the whole lot got fired? It's time to burn it and rebuild. The Offence is the worse I've ever seen. My buddy and I where talking Jets the other day. He said imagine how bad Sanchez would have been in the less Pass friendly NFL of the past. when recievers could be mugged, and QB could be hammered...
