Brady on Jets : They're similar to us ~ ~ ~

There are almost NO similarities.

We can run the ball and play defense. They can't.

They have a QB. We don't. Same goes for TE.

When a Jets player is disciplined by the league, he takes accountability and serves his punishment. Theirs whine, bitch, blame everyone else, lie, destroy evidence, then get away with it on a technicality in a collective bargaining agreement.

Our head coach appears to be a class act. Theirs is the scumiest of scum.

OK, so the Patriots didn’t beat the Colts by 70 points.

In fact, they didn’t even cover (Vegas always seem to know..).

But they did win. And though Tom Brady seemed less than thrilled with the performance, all that matters is they left their business trip in Indianapolis with a 5-0 record.Of course, they had some help. The Colts actually looked like a competent football squad for the first half. They led the Patriots, 21-20, as thoughts of a Patriots blowout vanished after a Colts opening-drive touchdown.

And then “SnapFu” happened.

You already know what play we’re referencing. With the Patriots now leading 27-21 late in the 3rd quarter, the Colts faced a 4th-and-3. Inexplicably, they tried a fake punt play in which nine of the eleven players rushed over towards the nearside sidelines and lined up . . . illegally. On top of that, the two players who stayed in the middle of the field – the “snapper” and “quarterback” – actually snapped the ball and were promptly tackled by a hoard of Pats.

It was, by all accounts, one of the dumbest plays in NFL history.

That gave the Patriots ball on Indy’s 35-yard line. Six plays later they’d score a touchdown to go up 13 points, and that was that. It’s just the latest example of an opposing team psyching themselves out against the Patriots. And one team that’s done that since the turn of the century is the New York Jets. Led by Rex Ryan from 2009 to 2014, the Jets did more than their fair share of trash talking – and even won a few games. But in the end, Ryan and the Jets were mostly just hot air (and the Bills might be finding that out the hard way this season).
Ryan’s up in

Buffalo now and the Todd Bowles-led Jets are 5-1 as they prepare for New England this Sunday. But just as Ryan still can’t get the Patriots off his mind, it seems like some of his former players can’t either. Take Jets DE Sheldon Richardson for example. Coming off a 34-20 win over the Redskins on Sunday, Richardson is already hyping himself up for next Sunday."[They’ve] run this division for a while so I am kind of happy we get next,” Richardson told ESPN. "We're getting after it. I mean, they are the Super Bowl champions. Just leave it at that. You know, licking our chops."This is hardly trash talk, but does speak to the way other teams across the league – and especially the division – think about the Patriots. There’s never been a bigger target on the collective backs of one team than this Patriots team has now.

To be the best you have to beat the best – everybody knows that. But what Richardson and the rest of the NFL have to realize is that the Patriots are licking their chops, too.

My only regret is I only have one rep to give.

-- The folks at ESPN Stats & Information culled many interesting factoids about the New York Jets and their matchup Sunday against the New England Patriots. Enjoy  :

1. The Jets blitz more than any team in the NFL (47.6 percent of dropbacks), while Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is tied for sixth in completion percentage against the blitz (69.2).

2. The Jets are the best defense on passes outside the hash marks (Total QBR: 28.0), a direct result of improved cornerback play with Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie. Meanwhile, Brady is terrific outside the hashmarks -- 84.1 Total QBR.

3. Ryan Fitzpatrick is on pace for the best Total QBR by a Jets quarterback in the 10 seasons of QBR data. He's had back-to-back games with a Total QBR above 90. No Jets quarterback has ever posted three straight games over 90.

4. Fitzpatrick's shortcomings are interceptions and long passes. With seven picks, he has the fourth-highest interception rate in the league (4.1). He's only 3-for-24 on pass attempts of at least 20 yards in the air, the lowest percentage in the league.

5. Brandon Marshall’s 511 receiving yards are the most through five games by a Jets player since Don Maynard in 1968. The most through six games is 662 (Maynard, 1967).

6. Chris Ivory leads the NFL in rushing yards per game (115.5). He averages 2.81 yards after contact per rush, the second-highest mark. He has run for at least 100 yards in two of his four meetings against the Patriots.

7. The Patriots are the only team with a third-down conversion percentage above 50 percent (50.9), and they're second in red-zone efficiency (73.9 percent). Their three turnovers are tied for the fewest.

8. New England is 18-4 in October games since 2010, including seven wins in a row.

Rich Cimini ESPN Staff Writer

The Jets' secondary is healthy for its showdown against Tom Brady & Co. Buster Skrine (concussion) is listed as probable, although he hasn't been officially cleared yet. Marcus Williams (hamstring) also is probable. RB Bilal Powell (ankle) was ruled out. Todd Bowles was non-committal on whether Stevan Ridley (PUP) will be activated as the third back. RG Willie Colon (knee) is questionable, but he's expected to play.

LOL You are probably still wiping your tears when he quit on you guys after one day as HC...

Just one of many examples where he proved he is a disgraceful human being. If you defend that kind of behavior simply because of the uniform you root for, you likely are too.

Fail

NE has the # 1 rush offense in the league. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamoff

The NFLs 8th ranked defense is getting better every week. Jamie Collins is turning into a BEAST! http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef

Disgraceful? BP essentially told him "you are going to be the next head coach of the Jets." Only problem, BB didn't want the job.

I'm sure he returned the $1,000,000 to Leon Hess, seeing how he didn't want the job and all.

What a stand up guy.

Jets received draft compensation for BB to NE.

BB received a million dollar bonus to stay on as the HC of the NYJ.

Stand up, I tell ya. I guess he just took that cash and stuffed it into a FedEx box for his married secretary.

Stand up guy.

No, he received $1mil to not "speak" with other teams. He ended up quitting though. NFL ruled the Jets held his rights, and awarded compensation. Done.

pop quiz

what NFL team has received the most penalties from the NFL over the NFL's history, and which NFL team has received the largest penalties, and why ?

I will counter your pop quiz. In the 21st century, which team has been to the most Super Bowls, won the most Super Bowls, and won the most games? One hint, the team does not start with "J."

are you too ashamed to answer ?   here's a hint: the answer makes your question amusing at best
