Just like it's someone else's fault Mo has the presence of mind and lack of character to still be skipping meetings?

He's an ass**** who was undeserving of this payday. The money would have still been spent, and it was better spent on others.

Well first off, I’m subtracting 6 sacks from your total right off the bat.

I don’t care who were blaming on the meetings. It’s nonsense and noise, does not matter. The meetings are not why this franchise is completely unwatchable even by NFL standards. Nor - before we get there - is it that the DL or defense, or any one individual in those groups, are not winning the games for them in the 2017-2018 NFL.

You know what’s going to happen when the Jets get a QB? Guys are still going to **** around and **** up but so long as that QB is out there throwing TDs and winning games it’ll be sunshine and ******* lollipops.

A healthy Mo Wilkerson has put up 2.5 sacks and looks borderline immobile when on he's on the field, against single coverage.  Leonard Williams just had a cast removed 3-4 weeks ago, is a mere half a sack behind him, while dealing with double teams and hasn't given up on a damn play all season.  He's also, statistically, rushing the QB better, even if it isn't translating into sack totals.

F*ck Mo.  Gonna be a great day when that guy gets cut.

9 mil in dead cap next yr, 6 in 19? If they cut him and waste another high draft pick on another D Lineman I am done with this team.

I dunno man, on the one hand it's possible they had to an idea, but it's also hard to say to what extent because it's hard to predict this stuff. There's a famous coach in the fight world (John Danaher) that talks about instances like this regularly, to paraphrase him: It's hard to predict how a person will react when they go from nothing to waking up in silk sheets every morning and millions in your bank account. People change, and money changes people big time.

Bottom line, in hindsight, he shouldn't have been paid. But he (Macc) won't be called out on it because the media agreed with the move at the time, unless, as Sperm suggests, they want to declare ignorance as to not knowing his standing with the team.

And the media are really the only people of prominence that can call him out. We dont have a voice here. Nobody listens to us

Hey, you're the one trying to absolve Mo for the one thing that doesn't require any skill: showing up every day, and showing up on time every day at that.

The rest of your post is just a pile of straw man nonsense about how we wouldn't be awesome anyway. What that has to do with excusing "future HOFer" Mo is beyond my comprehension.

And you should have paid attention to those sack totals while you were quoting 12 sacks 12 sacks 12 sacks. The fact of the matter is 5 of them did come only after there was a 3-touchdown score disparity in the 2nd half. It absolutely speaks to when he comes alive, after everyone else is more prone to letting their guards down.

He was never worth the money they gave him. Just say you were wrong; we all are from time to time. You sound like you'd guarantee him another $37m all over again in January.

Exactly. But he kept getting chances. Remember the first time the late to meetings thing came out in the first place was last year when he was bad.

Good play, like winning, can be a great deodorant.

T.O. was far more rarely talented and productive. He was one of the most dominant players for a decade, and he played an offensive skill position in the fantasy football era.

Mo doesn't and didn't have any of that going for him.

Before this extension, Mo could already afford silk sheets, and have enough leftover to also buy silk sheets for every resident of Bergen County.

True, Then there is Pacman Jones who was suspended for a season, went to Canada for a year, and is now still playing for the Bengals. Now Pacman doesnt make the same amount of money as Wilkerson does, but that's beside the point for me

If you are good, incidents will be ignored.

And Marvin Lewis and all the Bengals players are each going to have to grow an 11th finger to fit their next SB ring, right?

That team is and has been the model for signing/drafting douchebags and have it blow up in their face.

You're making my point for me.

Greg Hardy was signed by Dallas. And he plays the same position as Mo. Hardy is a more dangerous pass rusher, which is why he was signed

Not on a multi-year guaranteed deal at $17m he wasn't.

True, but again that's beside the point. My point is that when you play well, your behavior is ignored.

Now was there something to suggest that when Mo got paid, his play would sag, which would highlight his meh behavior? Because if he was playing well, his meh behavior would not be highlighted as much. At least I think so.

The population of Bergen County is 938,506. Plus Mo, that makes 938,507 sets of sheets.

The average price for a silk sheet set on Amazon is about $300.

That amounts to over $281 million worth of sheets.

Prior to his extension, Mo made a total of slightly under $14 million.

Your silk sheet claim is bad. And you should feel bad.

Good thing peters didn't do this about 5 times over two years or he would be missing a lot of games eh?

That's what's so disturbing. Coughlin is and was a grade-A douchebag, but he'd bench guys for a quarter for showing up "only" 3 minutes early for a meeting.

We let this guy show up late - if he even shows up at all - and he has to commit this offense several times before there are any repercussions.

This, from the a-hole player who bragged in September about taking on more of a leadership role after dogging it for all of 2016.

It's NOT ignored. It's very much front & center, which is why even though he was a premiere CB skills-wise, guys like Pacman or Hardy didn't get 5 year deals with $20-30m guaranteed. He didn't even make it through his rookie contract.

Teams in desperation might sign him as a stopgap, but they all take it year to year with a loose cannon like that.

Maybe Sperm buys his silk sheets used off of craigslist.  It's a great way to meet people in the neighborhood.

You'd buy NEW silk sheets for a bunch of strangers? Wow you must be rich.

Excuse me, your majesty.

But the one player the Giants haven't disciplined? Odell? Why? because he's a good player.

It's the same principle, regardless of position

Yes. Would you count "missing meetings" as being a loose cannon?

So we're just going to trust that strangers on the Internet are all going to have pure silk sheets? Nobody is going to try and pawn off some sateen or a cotton blend? Don't be ridiculous.
