How Is It Possible That A "Buffoonish" Jerry Jones....

As "acting GM,"  managed to build a NFC Championship contender in the Cowboys, whom the Jets will be facing in a few weeks:

A competent HC...

An tough, mobile young QB who's improving...

An elite RB...

Good Receivers and a HOF TE...

An O-Line that's the envy of the league...

And a Defense that's aggressive, underrated and really good...

And the hapless Jets go through professional, so-called GM's like used Q-Tips...

Always in a "re-build,"  never building a solid foundation...

WHY???

He's been doing it for 30 years... and he is never going to fire himself no matter how bad they get.

Firstly, Dallas Sucks!

Secondly, Dallas hasn't done sh*t in ages.

Thirdly, JJ is his own worst enemy.

Why buffoonish? The guy knows football and has built a SB Contender. Buffoonish drafts Quinnen Williams with Josh Allen staring at him, and Leonard WIlliams, and Devin Smith and Hackenberg in round 2. that's buffoonish.

Fans of perennial losers should show the winners some respect.

I believe that during the post-Parcells period when Jerry assumed more direct management of the team that the Cowboys were not playoff quality.

Jones really worked and grew into the job.

He was successful before he bought the Cowboys but not loaded.  Like Jeffrey Lurie he begged, borrowed and stole to buy the team.   He is now a billionaire, also like Kraft, because of his purchase of the team and stadium.  But most importantly, he somehow learned on the job and grew, even at an older age.  This old dog learned new tricks.   There was a time when most argued he should fire himself.

Woody was hopeless.  Chris is trying learn and be better.

The Jets have won as many playoff games in the last 10 years as the Cowboys have won in the last 23.

Because  Dallas is another  major media center, like NY who already has multiple  other teams for income. Has nothing to do with any owner decisions.

The star on the helmet is a pentagram,  not some cute American  symbol.

As did Mangini... we havent really been good since his years. All of our top players were drafted while he was coach.

Sure, but the Cowboys have never been a complete sh*t team consistently picking in the Top 10 either.

They’re usually competing for the playoffs every year.

And presently, they have arguably the best RB in the league, arguably the best OL in the league, a franchise QB they unearthed in the 4th round, and a defense loaded with studs on every level.

And every key piece on that team is home grown with the exception of Amari Cooper.

Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Tyron Smith, Zack Martin, Travis Frederick, La’el Collins, Jaylon Smith, Leighton Vander-Esch, DeMarcus Lawrence, Byron Jones, etc...all drafted and developed by Dallas.

Jerry’s biggest problem is his devotion to Jason Garrett. Otherwise, he’s a pretty damn awesome owner/GM.

Because he let his advisors and son do most of the drafting.

They took a pro bowl O Lineman when he wanted Johnny Manziel.  He's still Jerry, but his son does a lot.

Dallas did not win a playoff game from 1997 - 2008. Over that time period, they missed the playoffs 7 times. What Jets GM would have survived that era?

But Jerry Jones certainly isn’t a “buffoon”.

He wants to win at all cost and is willing to do pretty much whatever it takes to do so. You can’t deny that the Cowboys have been awesome in regards to the draft process for the last 10+ years. 

His downfall has always been selecting the proper HC.

But Dallas has certainly never been completely devoid of talent during his reign.
