Diamond Report

Summary:

In the box hard hitting safety with aggressive athleticism

Moffatt  is a tackling machine with an outstanding 102 tackles  in 2017.

In The Pass Game

Takes good angels can play over top or underneath in the passing game. See him play a lot in zone coverage as many defenses play these days. He does have the physicality to jam wide-outs or pass catchers at the line. Has explosive closing speed with good vision to get in the line of fire & disrupt passes. Has the power to line up in the slot against big TE’s or monster backs. Moffatt has a good spring to launch himself like a missile in front of receivers. Must fear crossing the middle with Moffatt lurking in the secondary. Enough speed to play outside although not elite long speed. Slot CB or Safety Can utilize his talents. The ability to lay out pass catchers going across the middle. Time & deflect the pass or jar the catch lose.

In The Run Game

Really good getting off and behind the line against the run or in designed DB blitz packages.  Rattles bones with his hits causing fumbles, incomplete passes, and turnovers with his vicious tackling style.  In the box short area type player extends his arms & body well on tackles. Puts good effort in good bounce springs using his agility lower body half to make diving plays. Knows how to get his head out the way square up his opponent land a vicious left shoulder to chop players to the ground. Relentless pursuit of the ball carrier is Moffatt’s strong point high motor heavy hitter.

Summary

A guy that’s not ranked that high at the moment because of injury & other members of the Middle Tennessee State Secondary in the limelight. He might not have had the senior year he had planned. Do think if he is healthy he can be an asset as a nickel or strong safety candidate. Moffatt could also pay dividends as a player to go down & blowup returners on kick off or punts. some return experience early in his career shows good acceleration on returns. Exciting to follow his progress as he makes his journey to the big time. People forget about guys fast especially when said player has an injury before his Senior year.  Makes guys go undrafted we are seeing an upswing in this trend. Undrafted guys that get healthy under a pro training staff to go on & make a huge impact.
