As far as the game goes, I noticed this last night but didn't say anything as curious to see how it panned out. As much as I've been one of JiF's critics in the past for his "stay a retarded comment and see how people react" strategy, there's something about his exchange with some people last night that really throws me off.

As someone who actually read the opening scene, it was clear as day that JiF's "game setup" post was merely him being an ass about it. It was only a slightly shorter summary of the opening scene itself. Yet there were some people who described it as scummy. While some of it was probably meant in jest, some seemed to be serious about that. That strikes me as really odd and I feel like that's either the response of somebody who just didn't read the opening scene, which is weird, or perhaps a player who as scum couldn't keep straight the info they received as a team versus that which was provided in thread.

No we are good nae. If anything I am saying the aggression isn't exactly "different" from you. That is your in-game persona. What happened to you and I was off game but if anything I feel we are kind of similar. I tend to lean more aggressively myself. Everything is cool.

Something similar to me happened twice with my office computer and it was horrible both times. It wasted a day each time to get the computer back up & running normally. System restore was the ultimate solution in the second one and malewarebytes was the solution on the first.

It was maddening.. uninstalled AVG, Adware, and Spybot... downloaded Avast, Malewarebytes, Adware, Spybot, CC Cleaner, MS Defender, and another well reviewed adware remover... took 5 reboots in 'safe' mode for restore to even work, ran scans which took about 4 hours (while watching the Yankees come back on Arizona), removed a bunch of crap that was found... afterwards everything seemed fine except for that google redirect where a separate tab opens in Firefox and brings you to google periodically for no rhyme or reason. I get to play around with it more when I get home... I'd like to line up a bunch of these effers that create this BS and viciously clothesline each one.

This happened to me as well on my work computer. It eventually literally zapped my harddrive. The computer just stopped booting up and I lost a lot of my files. I think the virus I had was something modo. Can't recall the name but it was nasty.

My original vote on him was a joke - but now I'm kind of liking it for real.

To me, he seems very chill so far. He hasn't played too much, or too little. He's posted, but not really drawn too much attention to himself. And then there is that subtle play against JiF.

root kits install in the boot sector and interecept operating systems calls and return fraudulent results.. so when an AV requests a file or directory listing, it simply doesn't return itself.. almost impossible to truely get rid of a well written one without killing the system format c: i see in your future

Mine had a problem a few months back. I got on the phone with my internet service provider and he was linked to my computer so he could actually see and access it. He tried to go to websites to download said problem removers and the virus I had wouldn't even let him access those pages.. it kept sending him to search pages and stuff. It took him 3 hours and cost me 100 bucks before the problem was solved. >.<
