BroadwayJoe12
Yea, because a man who has routinely been willing to freely spend money on state of the are facilities, free agents, trainers, doctors etc. really care about a few hundred grand? He may very well not have wanted the new contract, but something tells me it wasn't strictly about the money. Maybe he likes the fact that penalties were being called equally terribly on both sides, instead of just favoring the darlings of the NFL like Green bay, New England etc.
Bleedin Green
What a shocker, the owners of the teams who routinely got treated like gold by the old refs wanted them back, where as the owners of the teams who constantly got screwed over by the old refs were in no such rush. Trying to play this off as a political fiasco is pathetic and laughable, especially considering there is no evidence that this change will have any impact on the financial situation of a single team (or its owner), but rather the actual league office. The Jets will never be the darlings of the NFL like the Giants, Pats, Steelers etc so I see your point and I think its a good one. The NFL is an old boys network to the highest degree...certain teams get certain favors. Hell Rozelle and Modell were two peas in a pod basically. Bugg
Jets' ad budget the last 3 seasons > PSL revenue. Good work, Woody! A brilliant businessman. Recall before PSLs the Jets sold out for years with no ad campaign required.

Blackout
the refs demands were WAY too high and wussy Goodell caved in I loved the replacement refs because defense was being played at a much harder pace and the games weren't as ridiculous as last year with everyone throwing over 300 yards a game

JetsFanInDenver
Because we're in the year 2012 and MRI machines are not just some mythical conception you read about in a sci-fi book. There is always a chance of MRI being wrong. The extent of damage has a potential to differ from what showed up in the MRI. That's why JETS are waiting till Revis goes thru with the actual operation. Unless we desperately need a roster spot its a pretty wise move.
Larz
I'm on the fence on this one the refs are greedy. they want a pension, but they don't want to be full time, so they keep their "day jobs". oh really. you want a part time job with a pension ? screw you the owners are greedy. they subjected the fans to 4 weeks of crap AND STILL CHARGED FUL PRICE TICKETS. screw you so they all are greedy. I bet kraft leaked this anyway, lol

Yes, MRIs can be pretty misleading depending on who's reading them, but his images are being read by top OSs and not some RN or rad-tech. Additionally, having seen first hand the actual instance that injured his knee, I think it's pretty safe to say it's a torn ligament and not pain from a long bone fracture etc. But damn, I'd love for everyone to be wrong though and have him come back in a couple months lol. Maxman
Look at this comment from the article: This is exactly why Woody & the Jets will never actually win anything. Obviously Woody feels it’s ok to ram an inferior product down the fans throats. The guy has more money than he’ll ever know what to do with but there he is, as the integrity of the game suffers, watching pennies. I really feel for Jet fans with this guy as your owner. BroadwayJoe12
Ever been to Canada? #obamacareftw I've been to the ER in canada and hospitals throughout the world in general and no one touches the US. I know the statistics say we waste a lot of money and aren't the top in health care in the world, but there's no place I'd rather have surgery than right here. Germany and some of the Euro countries have some interesting and innovative procedures, but there's a reason you have dignitaries, royalty and the wealthy flying to the US to have heart surgery etc. done here. It's the best. But yea, Canada in general is just a nightmare to have anything go wrong with you medically. It's gonna be miserable here; specialists are going to be forced to see more patients and spend less time with them to make up for the lack of reimbursement...moreso than they are right now. The ER is going to be burned-out, as all the new 50 million insured aren't going to be able to find a primary care physician to see them, because a lot of the GPs will start to refuse medicare patients, so they flock to their local emergency room. It's gonna be brutal.
JFtoLong
Our owner is a jackass. Such a shame to have had two such terrible owners of this franchise. And I am sick of the Woody spends argument, it does not change the fact that he is a complete joke of an owner, and cares about winning as his third or fourth agenda behind money, attention and who knows what else.
