Jets Reward Program/Points

Lot K Tailgaters

Recommended Posts

Some tailgaters are respectful.

But as a collective, they are rude, inconsiderate, selfish, and create an environment that is not suitable to families with small children. Even if it's just a few apples, they spoil the whole bunch. All it takes is 20% of all tailgaters to take up multiple parking spots to inconvenience hundreds of people. All it takes is 20% of all tailgaters blaring loud music, swearing, smoking, urinating, and littering to ruin the experience for thousands of people.

There are quiet zones in the stadium. There are alcohol-free zones in the stadium. There is no smoking in the stadium. There is physical segregation between the four major gates. These rules need to be emulated in the parking lots as well. We are long overdue for a tailgate-free parking lot that doesn't force my 10 and 2 year olds to walk through Vietnam just to get into the stadium.

You only have 2 seats how do you get a 10 and 2 year old into the stadium along with you and taking a 2 year old to a football game is crazy.

You make reference to Vietnam which I find truly offensive to those Vietnam Veterans who were really there and I bet would trade the parking lot anyday of the week instead of having been in Vietnam.

As I said the first time I heard of this back on JI when the rewards program was introduced, they shouldn't have over-thought this.  Model after Panera's.  Whenever I eat at Panera's, I'm asked if I have a card.  I give them the card or phone number which relates to the card.  Every few visits, I'm told I have a free coffee or free pastry or free bagel or free smoothie or whatever until some date like a month in the future.

Beautiful!  Effortless on my part.  No web site or bidding or points or whatever.  Technically, I don't even know if I'm being cheated.  Perhaps I should be getting more free smoothies.

But I don't give a sh*t.  I do nothing and occasionally get a small treat.

Why can't the Jets do this?  I buy a beer, swipe my card, and the beer person says "looks like you have a free hot pretzel til October 10th.  Want it now?"

Beautiful!

I scan in to several games in a row, I get an email from the Jets on Monday - "Looks like you've earned upgraded parking for the Pats game.  Want it?"  Or, "Looks like you can get an extra two tickets for the Dolphins game in your section for 25% off.  Want those?"

Beautiful!

No more complexity or effort on our part.  Jets give away things that cost them nothing (pretzels) or extra capacity that would otherwise have gone unused (upgraded parking or unsold tickets).  Everyone is happy.

Make it happen, Jets!!!

Yeah, it just feels to me like they came up with an elaborate system to have a rewards program but not really have to give anything away. It's kind of ridiculous that I have 280,000 pts yet can't get anything more than one of those terrible season ticket holder hats that they used to give every sth for free before psls. Lol. In my opinion, a bad program is worse than no program.

They should do what they did before the new stadium.  Lot 18 you paid an extra $10 for the right to park in the lot and no on else was allowed.  Basically was mostly empty and no one tailgated since no one wanted to pay an extra $100 unless they were coming last minute.  Everyone was happy.  This was before the days of parking passes as well.  You had your lot 18 pass prepaid and everyone else paid $20 as they pulled up.

It has made things more complicated.  Now you have to get the swipe cards back from your friends after.

Listen my former Section 135 brother... that is way too logical and simple.  Our Jets will never do that.  Instead, I can sit on hundreds of thousand points, none of which can be combined, and get a bunch of useless signed photos of Clyde Gates and other scrubs.  Whoever designed this "rewards" program probably had good intentions but the final analysis is that the  program is  complete crap.

Degenerate tailgaters?  You are out of you're mind SAR I not all tailgaters are degenerates, friends and families gather before games to eat have a few drinks and catch up  on life.

Hard pressed for you to imagine a tailgate being civilized and enjoyable when you probably have no friends or a life when all you do is rant and rave about how prim and proper you are and how rich you supposedly are.

In case you haven't noticed there are other threads on this forum other than PSLs and tailgating.

This latest attempt to rile everyone up by claiming you have friends in the front office and you are working on tailgate free lots is as outlandish as I've seen out of you since you joined this forum.

Get used to it.  See it live on JI.

I park in the green lot-tailgaiting is never a negative there

lets be honest here too-the jets for the most part have sucked the past 3 decades I have gone to games-I have no issue with people trying to enjoy themselves outside as many times inside there is little enjoyment.

Made an executive decision this AM to get back into the fold after taking several years off as a STH.

If this was a stock market decision, the Jet's stock price is pretty low and I figure I'm getting in at a good time.

Gave the rep my $200 deposit.

Told me he will have the inventory for me in a few weeks to present to me.

Told him I am looking at 338-339 (50 yard line - TV side) Rows 6-9 so I am above that obnoxious railing that obstructs the view in the first 5 rows.

Despite much talk about how the UD sucks, I checked STR.com for Giants PSL resales and

believe it or not the asking price for seats in these 2 sections are going for between $3950 and $14750 per seat.

If I can score 2 seats in these sections and rows which the rep feels my chances are good, I will be as happy as Brady after the pick.

Looked at Mezz. Corners which actually had a lower PSL resale price than the Giants UD 50's but I

would have a problem with that view as I wouldn't be able to tell an inched out first down even if if I saw one.

Sorry, that's not the plan right now.

K was on the table but it's too close to I and J which are planned to be Tailgate-Free Zones. We did discuss the swampland immediately south of the area zoned for Tailgaters as a potential expansion area when the tides permit.

We have tickets in 338. Great views for the price. Plus no PSL. However we are always talking to new people each week who buy their tickets on stubhub for way less than face. Anyway my advice would be to stay away from the aisle seats on the left side above row 5 or 6. I think it's row 11 that actually have you sitting right in front of everyone walking up the aisle. I always feel bad for those people.

I could see that happening.

Thanks for the "heads up"!

As far as the SH neighbors getting in on the cheap...

Jet's turn things around and actually start winning... that all changes.

Why the hell are you taking your 2 year old to a football game? Are you really out of your mind?

That makes me think:

Why are a bunch of 50 year olds acting like they are 2 year olds in parking lots before sporting events?

It's just as logical a question. It's a football game. It's not an excuse for grown men to act like children.

Go to the opera.  Football does not sound like its for you

We got to the Opera, but only during Opera season which starts in August.

And when I park my BMW there, no burping farting 50 year old in ill-fitting 90s zebra striped Jets pants listening to Geddy Lee squeal like a pig pisses on it.

I like sitting with real Jets fans, not the empowered and enabled types that spend too much time at the carpeted food court and not enough time focusing on the game.

And, for the record, the experience inside the stadium is perfect. The burping cursing tailgaters are segregated up up up in the upper deck where gravity ensures their farts don't interfere with the rest of us, there is no smoking, foul language is grounds for ejection, and I've got the Jets fan behavior text number 78247 in my Contacts so when someone gets unruly they can be escorted elsewhere. PSL's ensure that the great-grandchildren of Shea Stadium season ticket holders don't get to give their tickets away to the lawn guy, it's all good.

It's the parking lots that are the nusance. Twas a time when the in-game stadium experience was awful and they cleaned that all up. Smoking, sexual harassment, cursing, seat-swapping, that's all gone now. It's the parking lots that are the problem. Clean up the tailgate infestation that's been allowed to go on for way too long, it'll be like going to an actual sporting event. Can't wait.

Agreed.

I think many Jets fans would pay an extra few dollars for a better experience. Tailgating is fun when it's done properly, like I said, it's just a few bad apples that spoil it for everyone else. I think a decent lot as a tailgate-free zone is a fair compromise.

Hahahahahahahha this thread is pure gold.

SAR 1 is the biggest psychopath I have ever seen on this board.

Why? Because I like to go to a game to watch a game and not get drunk? Because I like to park in a lot and walk with my children without being assaulted by gutteral sports-bar behavior?

I don't think that's psychopathic; I think that's rational.

First off, congrats on the decision.

Next, the Mezz Corners are very good for those that like a little elevation but can't deal with the upper deck or the Club scene, the view is quite good for first down inching and such.

That is 100% correct. 16H was awesome because you could pay-to-play and it was a great situation in a back corner of a lot and we were all clean and respectful. The organized tailgates are terrific, zero complaints there, some great Jets fans, they make everyone's experience better, not worse.

I'm referring to the 26 year old in his mom's Camry who bought $3 tickets on Stubhub and decides to park sideways and take up 3 spots and blast ACDC and taps a keg for his girlfriendless co-workers at DMV who curse every-other-word and throw chicken bones on the ground and piss on cars and drink until they're blotto. Once finished, they put the beer bottles under other cars wheels, they dump their coals in the middle of the road, they let the segulls attack the leftovers they didn't bag up. If the Jets could control those types, gameday would be awesome.

Well, he did say you were farting and burping in Zubaz pants. Heaven forbid.

Tailgating is fine, even for the ill-fit zebra pants types. It just needs to be controlled. Confined unruly behavior can be a blast for like-minded individuals. Like prison.
