CrazyCarl40
Have to IR him. Roster is maxed out as it is to carry two kickers on it. His season is done.
jamesr
Damn, that's not good news. Injuries are mounting up ... and we've half the season still to go.

Jetlife33
Connor Hughes of the Journal Inquirer tweeted earlier today that Billy Cundiff was among that group of free agent kickers getting a look from the Jets, and Brian Costello of the New York Post fills out the rest of the list, tweeting that Randy Bullock, Garrett Hartley, and Kyle Brindza also auditioned. In Garafolo’s view, Bullock is the favorite to sign with New York to replace Folk.
prime21
This is a significant loss. He has been a very consistent kicker that has allowed us to not be too nervous on FG attempts. Sigh, back to the nail biting attempts...especially in the 4th.

Beerfish
I was not a great fan of Folks when he 1st came here but he has been a very reliable if not more than that kicker. A lone bright spot in our really lousy special teams.

Who are you cutting to make room for a second kicker for one who is out 4-6 weeks? Come on, man. That's crazy. My best guess is Folk gets IRd and Dion Bailey gets waived. He has a high ankle sprain. Randy Bullock! Not sure how good of a kicker he is, but with a name like that, he sounds like he has a future in porn.
CrazyCarl40
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 2m2 minutes ago Jets are signing former Texans kicker Randy Bullock to replace Nick Folk and kick in Thursday night's game vs. Buffalo, per sources. #27TheDominator
I'm with Carl. I'm not carrying Folk on the roster in the hope that he is available the last four games of the season. **** him. Make some room for Milliner, or some other bodies. This is not a finished roster. Hell, I'd rather see the new midget to return kicks than have a roster spot for an injured kicker. We just need an extra point/holder guy. Quigley was okay with the kick offs. He was a 5th rd pick by the Texans in 2012 and made 5 of 6 fgs before being cut this season..
bostonmajet
Injuries can happen at any time, so it is hard to say, but this injury apparently happened during warm-ups. Do we think there is an issue with our conditioning program? or at least with the warm-up program?
prime21
He was a 5th rd pick by the Texans in 2012 and made 5 of 6 fgs before being cut.. He's good from 40 and under. 40+ is nail biting time Lets hope he doesn't revert to his 2013 form. FROM 2013: Texans K Randy Bullock is 13-of-21 on field goals this season. Bullock's 61.9 conversion rate ranks 32nd in the NFL. He's 0-of-4 from 50+, including an ugly miss from 55 yards out that could have sent Sunday night's game into overtime. The Texans burned a fifth-round pick on Bullock in 2012, but he's killing his team right now. They need to move on.

The playoff game and Doug Brien? I still blame Herm for that for laying down after we kept steamrolling down the field and being content with trying 43-48 yarders. Beerfish
I blame the offense for not scoring a point.. The week before we beat San Diego for the very same reason, Shotty senior lost his nerve on offense, handed off into the line and expected his kicker to make the kicks from long range. Kaeding missed a few times and we won as a result. The next week Herm decides to do the very same thing, goes into a shell the moment we were in FG range rand settles fro long FG tries, which of course our kicker that had been really good all year missed. Play gutless in this league at keys times and you deserve your fate.

That is a fair point; last week, we went for the TD (by going for it on 4th and 3) because we didn't want to send our punter out. If we are going to be more aggressive in offense, then great.
