Was this on two or three attempts?

  1. Christian Hackenberg is having a good day today.

  2. Christian Hackenberg is having the best practice today of any of the ones open to the media this spring. Looks good #nyj

Forget what ya heard about the Jets being the NFL's worst team ... Gang Green star Buster Skrine says the squad is gonna shock the world in 2017.

TMZ Sports caught up with Buster in NYC, and asked the veteran CB for his message to the embattled Jets Nation ... “This our year right here!”

It’s a big statement considering the Jets finished dead last in the AFC East last year (5-11), and have unloaded some of their best players like Eric Decker in the off-season.

Skrine said he's sad to see Decker go -- but his release is “all business” ... and he clearly believes the team will win without him.

From what I've read, Hack and McCown both have a pick and have otherwise made some nice throws.

Hack's pick is being tweeted everywhere, McCown's was barely and only mentioned for the fact it was a tip by Claiborne that Demario chased down and grabbed.

So all in all if Hack can stay even with McCown, there's no logical reason McCown should be starting week 1.

If we're taking all of this in a vacuum then Petty is the starter. No picks, scored a td over Claiborne who made both the picks by McCown and Hack happen.

Except for: gives us the best chance to win.

So, these guys are playing hero ... and Connor Hughes is playing the heel.

My guess is that this doesn't come as an act of honesty or integrity by Manish and Costello, but instead it's a reaction to Hughe out-trolling them with the "hit reporters" bit. Now their over-selling accuracy to make Hughes look bad.

None of what any of them write has anything to do with the actual football progress being made.

Buster Skrine is so good at football that he has another job yelling motivational phrases into a headset to a room full of overweight, rich guy wives on stationary bikes with a disproportionate seat-to-asscheek complex.

it's not that crazy to believe Petty is the best of the three. He's got chemistry with Robby Anderson and it's a really low bar.

Burris picked off Petty in end zone. But overall these practice are useless. If they feel after preseason that Hack or Petty are about even with McCown, they need to start over him.

That was after my post. FWIW both Petty and Hack sound like they had practices either better or even with McCown. That bodes well on multiple levels for this team.

I'm looking forward to months of posts that all contain the qualifier "if Hack or Petty are even close to McCown, you start them".

I don't believe anyone disagrees here. At all. But it's important to say it as often as possible.

It's more like a plea. Like if we say it enough it will come true.

Hack is gonna lead us to championships! Hack is our lord and savior! HACK THE PLANET!

...

Well today was a good effort. Lets just remind ourselves that this is all a process and anything that happens good or bad is just the steps these guys need to take to get better overall, especially the QB's.

The bad news is that McCown got the same amount of reps as Hack and Petty combined. Hopefully tomorrow has one of them with the higher pass count.

huh?  Think your math is off there.  They were all pretty close together.

Doesnt sound like it. Bowles basically said McCown stays number 1 for the OTAs
