Lets not forget JD did not draft Sam and to this point Sam has yet to establish himself. On top of that, a 4th round QB tsaken  AND talk of interest in Dalton? Hmmmmm.

Whats Jetworld lke if they do sign Dalton and Sam and the Jets start out 2-6, with picks outnumbering TDs?  He will def be looking over his shoulder

If the Jets start 2-6 and Sam is throwing more picks than TDs he should be looking over his shoulder.  It's time for Sam to play like a franchise QB.

Trevor Siemian will be coming soon.

Wouldn’t mind him back.  Maybe Gase prepares him this time?

You guys know what this means right?
Joe Douglas EXPECTS Adam Gase & this Jet team to COMPETE for the AFC East title THIS YEAR!
We have a tough schedule but so do the teams in our division! #1- WIN DIVISION GAMES!
They added another playoff team.
Thus division is COMPLETELY up in the air without Brady. 9-7 or maybe 8-8 could win this division if you take care of teams in your division.
Maybe fans think NEXT YEAR, but GMs & Coaches don’t when you believe you have your QB in place. Sam gets nicked, you CANNOT raise the white flag like last year!

It may also mean they don’t want to fail to gauge others - Mims and new OLmen in particular - if Darnold misses a lot of time. Do we keep those players for 2021 and just guess at how they would have performed with Darnold? Do they hold them just as accountable if the QB rookies away every 3rd drive on the first series? Looking to see how cheaply they can add a veteran QB2 can mean more than one thing. Frankly I think they’ll add another QB2 anyway, unless Morgan looks polished and in command of the offense  this summer despite decreased reps.

That said, I think the team is and should be expected to compete for the division following any offseason they’re not just cutting everyone and waiting for next year’s cap relief to allow some rebuilding to begin.

And your proof that he didnt a year ago is what, when he was injured after a handful passes?
