addage
The biggest problem for Jets fans is expectations. If you were thinking 9-10 wins, then you are right to be in panic mode. But that was never in the cards. Those of us who saw merit in keeping Darnold did so in the belief that the Franchise would be better, quicker with Sam as the starter. Sewell stonewalled Bosa in his first start. A combination of Sewell at LT and Becton at RT would have meant a far better OL. Becton may be a RT, not a LT. Darnold will never be a top 1/3 QB, but he does seem like a middle 1/3 QB. That's not a terrible draft pick. Having said that, JD and Saleh are right. Wilson shows every indication of being a top tier QB. Drafting QBs is a crapshoot but it looks like the Jets have done well this try. And as we have all said ad infinitum, QB is the hardest slot to fill and the most important position on the team. By taking this chance, the Jets also improved their cap position enormously. So kudos to the Jets organization. But the cost of the Zach Wilson decision is another year of hell for the fans. This is a 5-7 win team. With the injuries, maybe the 5 is more realistic than the 7. We set a franchise record for the # of rookies starting an NFL game and the most since 2012. The team that we match up to is Browns. That's the bad news and the good news. We're probably gonna get blown our of a lot of games, but like the Browns will be stronger for it down the road. So take the proverbial pill and chill. By mid-season, most of those rookies will start making plays, Some guys will come off IR to help. Even the OL will start to gel. We can have some fun watching our young team progress. All you have to do is get the expectations right!
jetscrazey
6 wins at best. Next year is the year where we actually win some games. We aren't winning anything with McGovern, Van Rotten, and Fant on the OL. Pray Zach doesn't get ruined by this trash OL
Popular Post JustInFudge
5 wins with an improving team and a franchise QB. We want the same confidence in Zach, the Chargers had in Herbert finishing last season. Honestly, nothing else matters.
Lith
Same expectations I had before the season started. 6 wins and a team that is better in December than September.

Pray Zach doesn't get ruined by this trash OL We all have to knock on wood, but hopefully Zack's mobility can keep him out of harms way since the Oline pass blocking, or lack thereof, is of the essence. But, if Zack can keep getting the throws accurately down the field even moreso, then at one point the pass rush, LBs, and Safeties have to honor that and back off a bit, which could open up the run as well. Lets see how it plays out. We are the youngest team in the league, so again we know that causes an impact in every game and collectively. Parcells use to say for every rookie you start you lose a game in that season. Well we are starting like 6-7 so that would be 6-7 losses right there, but how many positions aside of that are starting 2nd year players, at least another 2 or 3, though some of them like Hall seem to be playing beyond their years. Right now I like to see the continued progression of Zack and the CBs, since if those to positions end up not being a problem we are in good shape as they are 2 of the most critical in the game. Then hopefully next years draft with 7 picks in the 1st 4 rounds help us shore up the Oline, Edge, OLB, and more in the secondary as needed. The losses are not the problem. The problem is that the health of the future of this franchise is on the hands of GVR Fant McGovern and the rest. So, yeah sure, kudos to the Jets organization. Snell41
3 wins. That’s our bar. Do yourselves a favor, go golfing. Do the yard work you’ve been putting off. Ride a bike. Catch a show. Whatever it is you like to do outside of football, go do it and catch the stat line later in the eve. We’re gonna suck, resign yourself to that fact. SAR I
Adam Gase got 7 wins in 2019. Now we have a better general manager. Now we have a better head coach. Now we have a better offensive coordinator. Now we have a better defensive coordinator. Now we have a better quarterback. Now we have better wide receivers. Now we have an easier schedule. Now we have a bonus 9th home game. Now we have a neutral site game. Now we only face 2 elite quarterback’s all season. 8 wins is the expectation. Or canning Maccagnan and Gase meant nothing. All Gas, No Gase
I’m just here for the entertainment and as long as Zach and the offense gets better, it will be a fun year. Granted they only played one game and things can quickly change or proven otherwise; however, most of my expectations have been wrong. 1. Zach develops into a FQB; so far promising 2. The Oline is at least average; they may gel but not looking good so far 3. CBs are a major weakness; very solid performance the 1st game. 4. Safeties are a strength of the defense; Joyner’s injury changed that and Redwine got burned by Anderson 5. Elijah Moore would be a stud from the start; not yet 6. Although not perfect LaFluer would be a solid play caller; he didn’t adjust his play calling to account for the Panther’s ferocious pass rush 7. The pass rush would still be a factor; they did have an excellent win rate, Carolina had a good game plan to counter it through quick passes I’m still optimistic for the future and change just a couple of plays (Zach’s rookie Int, Elijah’s drop and Redwine getting caught flat footed), the game could have easily turned out a lot different. As long as they improve throughout the year, I’ll enjoy rooting for them regardless of the W- L record.
KO91
More than anything I think fans want to see a competent offense by years end. Sick of watching boring teams that can’t score.
Icer
Need Zach to stay healthy and not getting destroyed every game so we can see if he is a legit blue chip prospect. Nothing else matters
