There will be plenty of people willing to take a job paying millions of dolllars a year in a business with such a small window to get those top jobs.

In this hypothetical, I would love to see the “shocked pikachu” faces of all of the people here rooting for this to happen when every top GM and HC candidate withdraws their name from consideration for the job.  That would be my zen moment.

McAfee, whose ESPN show Rodgers has become quite a notorious guest on, said Rodgers was in Costa Rica on yet another ayahuasca retreat when the news broke.

"The world found out when that man was in Costa Rica," McAfee said on his show Wednesday afternoon.

Jordan Poyer posted a photo of himself and Rodgers at Playa Esterillos Este in Costa Rica. Both players have openly discussed their use of the drug, with the quarterback crediting his use of it to his MVPs in 2020 and 2021.

Yes.  But I'll ask the simple question.  Jets being turned down by the top candidates is going to happen anyway.   In this hypothetical situation - If AR quits to campaign - Woody Johnson will play a much bigger role in the decision making of the franchise.  It's just the reality of the situation.

And if JD and RS quit - Woody will find both a GM and HC to take their place - both those GM and HC's will be not better or worse than what they're going to be getting after this year anyway.

It's my position that if Rodgers leaves (which he won't) then Woody will have no choice but to play a bigger role in the off-season as the rebuild will start now instead of next year. The GM and HC are lame ducks and doesn't want them making major decision.

Is he saying that or is he saying that no one would come here if they do or if they were to be fired? The latter I kind of agree with. We’d be looking at high school coaches.

Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh were, quite literally, the top of the top when they were hired.

If you’re of the opinion that the Jets might get turned down by some top candidates anyway, so they should cut their nose to spite their face and go nuclear, that is ridiculous.

Can you honestly think of the probability of this? If you told someone this two years ago they would assume you escaped from a mental institution. 
Think about it. The jets trade for this all time historical QB, and literally in his first game, and first series he blows out his Achilles. ( In context this exact scenario happened 25 years earlier with the best jets team in their existence)... He then leaves the jets before even playing to pursue a career in politics? WTF???
All jokes aside, my biggest pet peeve with the jets organization is it's operated like some soap opera, like a mtv show in the 90s or something. Its not run like a football program. The entire ethos, vibe or whatever you want to call it is off. Parcells was the only time I can remember it being a football program.
Rodgers is an awesome QB, but is there not cognitive dissonance here based on what he said a few weeks ago? This is ridiculous and it's honestly disrespectful to Saleh and Douglas. But those two are also allowing this type of behavior ...It tells me they are not ready for leadership or truly focused. It also tells me they don't have an over arching vision or philosophy on what the team should look like, they just want a quick fix , ie Aaron will fix everything. That's not how football or sports works

Honestly I think it would be enough for me to finally throw the towel in on fandom and just love the sport because I love the game and have more fun gambling and fantasy . I wouldn’t be mad at Rodgers , Douglas , woody , nobody . There would just be nothing left to do but throw your hands in the air and say “**** THIS sh*t” . And I’ve never thought about not being a fan nor did I even think it was possible but this coming to fruition would just suck the fandom right out of me .

A qb that gets mono like a 12 year old girl ? I’ve never heard this from any other athlete ever . A qb legend makes his electric entrance onto your home field in week 1 prime time and goes down on the fourth play?

And none of those or any other example of this cursed franchises history would hold a candle to the overarching image of the Rodgers era as a jet ending with him on a debate stage vs a cackling Kamala Harris on a Thursday in week 2 at the same time that the jets are losing 19-2 at home vs the dolphins on TNF
