CBS mocks the Jets as the best fit for Justin Simmons FWIW....

Best fit: New York Jets

The Jets didn't address safety in the draft, thanks to filling out some holes on offense. With a deep safety class remaining in free agency, they could afford the luxury.

In comes Simmons, who is coming off a season which he finished with 70 tackles, three interceptions and eight passes defended. Opposing quarterbacks targeting Simmons had just a 58.4 passer rating as he earned his third straight Second Team All-Pro selection.

Simmons is a better option than Tony Adams or Chuck Clark at the moment -- and the Jets have been active in free agency. The price just needs to go down.

Interesting to review these. Lot of guys who will still get deals before training camp. Thankfully I don't feel like the Jets need to be aggressive with any of these pools.

Where do you guys think the Jets will actually sign more players? My rankings by tier:

1) iOL, Defensive Backs

2) LB, iDL

3) WR, RB, QB

Depth at guard and possibly CB feel realistic. Other defensive depth isn't out of the question, but might depend on training camp performances and who's still out there. I'd LOVE a high end safety but would have to see where the cap space comes from.

As for WR, I'd like a signing but doubt one with the current room. At QB, if Travis won't be ready to be emergency QB, a short term one may come. It may be hard to justify any real "salary" on the guys here though, it could be a borderline nobody (think Easton Stick)

Id' love to see Boyd, Calias Campbell and bringing back Kwon . If JD could pull that off then that could redeem some of the stench of Day 3.

Kwon and Calais actually feel like semi realistic options! I'd be glad too

Boyd and Justin Simmons are two guys I've been rooting to sign all off season, but in both cases I've read it's the money side that's holding teams away. I'm not getting my hopes up that we can sign them, unless JD has some more Incentive Based Contract magic at work :)

A few other players are still intriguing at S and WR.

I think they re-sign McGovern and bring in a receiver like MVS.

Say what you want about MVS, but he brings that vertical element to the offense, wouldn’t be counted on as more than the 5th WR on the roster, is cheap, made some big plays in the playoffs and has history with Rodgers.

We could use a safety for sure.

Maybe a cheap Wr as well.

Problem is, everybody keeps talking Justin Simmons.  I don't think he is affordable, do you?

Also, Boyd would be great at WR, but he wants to get paid.  Odell Beckham might come at a better price?  What about Gallup?  Again, his production seems to be diminishing.

Gallup has signed with the Raiders.

People hate on him a lot…and yeah if he were our #1 or #2 receiver I’d hate it.  But as our 4th / 5th option? It’s fine.

Michael Gallup signed with the Raiders today .  No guarantee to even make the roster , but it’s one year up to three million.   Veteran depth .

Poop. ....THen maybe Michael Thomas or Hunter Renfrow?  I haven't been looking at some of these updates.

Michael Thomas seems like a head case and has been so very injured.

Renfrow, on the other hand, feels like a  player Rodgers might love. Interesting thought, I'm here for it as long as he's cheap

Don't @ me but our boy Greg Van Roten played pretty well for the Raidah's last year.  0 penalties, 5 sacks allowed, didn't miss a game.  Might be a better low cost depth option than McGovern...

I thought the same thing when I read that list.
