Its not my intelligence in question..its the  JETS.  They have chosen to ignore the QB position for years, now if we have no options for 2017, Letting Petty and Geno compete as opposed to bringing in some kid as most experts say there isnt a QB in this draft is not the worst option.  Its bad....  but we have limited options.

But those same Jets (since Macc came onboard) have shown nothing but disdain to Geno and a serious reluctance to play him.

We have two kids, and may add a third by next year.

If anything, even the Jets know they "should" need some stale old veteran.  That's not Geno, Geno has no reason to want to be a backup here, there is simply no factor that would lead to a the team and player both wanting to make something work here.

If you're looking for Same Old Jets level of stupid, wait for the inevitable Tony Romo trade.  You'll get your fill then.

These is, IMO, no chance whatsoever Geno is even on this team, much less STARTING, in 2017.  You'd be just as likely suggesting Mark Sanchez will be starting.....oh, wait, that's actually MORE likely!!!  LOL!!!!!

It's been clear for some time that this regime inherited Geno and did everything they could to replace him from day one.  Ryan Fitzpatrick went out and threw 1,000 interceptions in one game and w/o hesitation, Bowles said they were sticking with Fitz.

They have not done one single thing since their arrival to show that they want him playing.  Benched him for 14 weeks last season despite Fitz being their only other option, gave the job back to Fitz when he wasn't even on the roster, etc, etc, etc...

Predicting he'll start next season....SMH

Coaches base QB ability off of tape not stats. And Geno has good tape. He's a starter. Coaches don't base QB decisions on Manish and New York media firestorm. Geno has never been suspended. We should re-sign him based on this tape.

thank you i didnt know about any of this

The New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers and Cleveland Browns have an interest in former New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

The Georgia native was a second-round selection out of West Virginia in 2013. Since that day, he has played in 33 games. However, he has played in just three games over the past two seasons. In those opportunities, he completed 35-of-56 passes for 391 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

The Chargers and Giants would both be backup roles. However, Smith could potentially compete for a starting job in Cleveland.

The quarterback position has already undergone several changes in Cleveland this season. Veterans Josh McCown and Robert Griffin III have been released. The team acquired Brock Osweiler in a trade on Thursday. Cody Kessler and Kevin Hogan are the only other two quarterbacks on the roster.
