Hey you guys. Carmelo is pissed about drafting Porzingis and feels lied to.

That's The Brand's own fault.  **** him.  If he actually cared about winning he'd have never re-signed here.  He re-signed solely because of the money.

This might be a good time for Jax to explore trade possibilities for The Brand.

BTW, The Brand is the only player on the Knicks that currently pre-dates Jax becoming president.

I don't see why we're allowed to be pissed about blowing the top pick and he isn't.

LOL, that is true.  But Melo is pissed that the Knicks didn't draft his buddy Winslow, a 6'4" SF.

F*ck Melo, if he cared about not cocking up the pick, then he would have sat his ass out months before the All-Star game, instead of shutting it down immediately after.  If he also cared about winning he wouldn't have held the Knicks for ransom when he wanted to be traded here depleting us of any talent.  The guy is all about the money/his brand, then  bitches when the team can't work around him. God I'd love for his ass to be booted.

“Anthony is upset with Phil Jackson’s decision to draft 19-year-old Kristaps Porzingis, telling a close friend “are we supposed to wait two or three years for this guy?” Isola wrote (June 26). “A Knicks source claims that Anthony called Tim Hardaway Jr. after Hardaway was traded to Atlanta for the draft rights to Jerian Grant to express his displeasure with Jackson’s moves.”

Probably. But some of that probably has to do with out of the 4 or 5 guys that the Knicks could have picked last night, Winslow is also going to be ready to play the soonest. Truth of the matter is that Melo should have been calling Okafor or Towns on the phone last night and welcoming him to the Knicks. Instead he gets word that we drafted a 3-year project EuroMantis and we traded away 1 of the only 2 guys on the roster that is remotely capable of being a starter. Melo is a doofus, but this is a legit beef here. The roster wasn't completely stripped until after he resigned, and I'm sure Phil made him a ton of promises when luring him back and there's no way he even came through on 1/4th of what he told him.

With FA about to open, Jax should tell Melo's agent to start talking to teams about potential landing spots and then come back to them with a trade proposal.

The Brand is a money grubbing fool because if he had any brains he would have done what LeBron did and have a 1st year opt out clause put in his contract.

Oh, Jax is just as delusional because he was selling the "we'll make the playoffs" claim last year so he obviously told the same thing to Melo.

And, yes, he shouldve been welcoming Towns or Okafor, but Timmy not giving a **** and Jax not caring either made sure that didn't happen the last week of the season.

The Knicks need to find a way to get something of value for Melo and sign some middle of the pack FAs.

Bulls and Houston have to still be interested in him. Bulls especially with Boozer's money coming off.

Shouldn't Melo carry a large chunk of the blame in not locking up the first overall when he played on his bum knee just so he could make the ASG in The Garden? If the dude shut it down when he should have we probably have the first pick locked up just as easily as not winning those last two games.

The good news is that he's seriously pissed. If I'm Jax I'm flying out to Vegas tonight, admitting things didn't go as planned, and asking if he can waive the clause while having New Orleans, Houston, and Chicago on speed dial. If you're Jax the last thing you want is the twatter-rumor war to start, because free agency starts in 5 days and nobody is going to ******* sign with us amidst a childish fiasco.

Shouldn't Melo's mother carry more of the blame? After all, he did come out of HER vagina.

In theory that could work, but in actual practice it doesn't because the Knicks were godawful with Melo before the ASG.  They were 10 and 43 at the ASG (.188)  and 7-22 (.241) afterwards.

In fact, the Knicks may have played better without Melo earlier if those post-ASG rate held up.

Jordan apparently turned down an offer of six draft picks from the Celtics for Charlotte's #9. One of those picks was the unprotected 2016 Nets pick.

Michael Jordan turned down six draft picks so he could secure Frank Kaminsky.

Shouldn't the Celtics be getting some heat here now because they have all these 1st rounders but no players and they only made the playoffs because (1) the East sucks and (2) they have an excellent coach.

I think they get an exemption because the East is a sh*thole.

And Jax couldn't swing that for the 4th overall?
