Stop behaving like a whiny little girl one minute and an internet tough guy the next minute.  It makes you look unhinged.

Only internet tough guys say the sh*t you said, because they're behind a keyboard. So I'll tell it to you again, watch how you refer to me.

This thread really took a turn for the worse come on guys its really sickening and disheartening to come here to discuss football with fellow Jets fans and realize you walked in on a pissing match and members bring bullsh*t nonsense out to justify their argument.

Grow the **** up.

The internet antagonizing proves my point.

Are you and your posse done with your African Bee impression or do you feel the need to carry on collectively venting?

The display of communal hand-wringing is as repetitive as it is disingenuous at this point.

Doesn't matter when he said it. He did. That means he was wrong. Him putting in a modifier doesn't make it any less wrong. He didn't see it coming and no one else did either. So, yes, Schefter gets it wrong sometimes. You get it wrong here. Admit it and move on. Or stay obsessed with me.

So schefter was not correct in saying Wilkerson didn't have an offer at the time, when there wasn't one? LOL okay sweetheart   and actually if you pay attention (not likely) schefter broke the Wilk story on live TV around 11 AM 7/15. But by all means, continue your desperate and pathetic attempt to undermine his credibility so you can feel better about your precious wittle fitzy. got it, tiger beat? :lol:

Forgot to say: G. Smith trying to push over Coach W Burnham at half was the most classless thing I've seen. Esp. from a "leader" #GrowUp

Harvin was a Superbowl MVP the year we got him.  He was a game changer when we had him.  A head case? Sure.  But a game changer nonetheless.  Percy Harvin was not nothing just because it suits Geno lovers arguments to portray him that way.

Decker started 15 games both years.

Why do you people insist on making things up?

You have no idea what you're talking about.  And get out of here with your bullsh*t start stats.  He was pulled in the second half of the GB game (that counted as a start).  He played a series in the Bears game (that counts as a start).

The fact of the matter is that he hurt his hammy before the season started and didn't recover until the end of the season.  He forced himself to play with a hamstring injury and was not himself for most the year.

Decker did caution he won’t make the same mistake as he did last year, when he rushed back following a hamstring injury.

“I’m going to be smart about it this time around,” he said.

http://nypost.com/2015/09/22/brandon-marshall-may-be-unlocking-the-star-in-eric-decker/

I guess you know more about Eric Decker's hamstring than Eric Decker.

And Harvin was an explosive player, but he wasn't a great WR.  He had zero 1,000 yard seasons and 4,000 career receiving yards.  Marshall is a GREAT WR and is playing his way into the HOF.  You're a fool if you think Harvin was even close to the WR that Marshall is.

Geno went to Decker's function in support, told the Media that he was there in support of his teammate and wouldn't be fielding questions regarding the Jets drafting Hackenberg.  The media proceeds to report that Geno refused to be interviewed and didn't "exude confidence" when asked about Hackenberg.

Reports like that is probably why Geno called them d  kheads.

I literally watched a particular media guy do this and I called him out on it on his twitter account.

Many Jets fans concern themselves more about how bad the story can  make Geno look then the credibility of the source. Perfect example, Jets fans linking a story about Geno being kicked off a flight and escorted by police (police themselves stated that it wasnt true) and take it as truth given that it supports the narrative, then turn around and argue amongst themselves about how the media got it "completely wrong" talking about all of the reports on how the Jets werent anywhere near signing Mo Wilkerson. Another example, Media blew up the situation about $600. Geno said that he didnt owe IK anything and that the situation boiled over based on something else. Days later after the Bills picked up IK and he publically apologized, a media person asked IK "if the situation stemmed from $600" and IK declined to comment. However, the media continued to feed the $600 story and every Jets fan that seen it fitting the narrative to this day continue to talk about it.

And people say that the media/TV dont control their emotions. If its this easy with sports, just imagine "world affairs".  Not saying that the media is wrong all the time, but the media is there to sell the shockvalue in a story, not to tell you exactly what the hell happened. This is why you have situations like JPP suing ESPN/Adam Schefter for releasing his private medical records for the simple purpose of "breaking a story" before someone else...completely disregarding JPP's right to privacy.

Media guys can do that, but Geno is a f'ing punk because he calls them d  kheads.

Makes me laugh.

And as a sidenote, if a Zebra never changes its stripes, then why the heck are Jets fans clamoring to sign Fitz to 12 million dollars? He's had those stripes for over a decade right? Just sayin' :-)

I actually found the situation with the media guy that I said I called out. Here's his tweet. Notice what he said: "Namath endorses Geno Smith for Jets QB but Geno didn't express same confidence speaking to us.

However, Check out the actual interview and what was said.

Not only did Geno tell him that it was a great event and that he was there to honor Eric Decker, but the guy even jumps on his "johnson" talking about how the "Job could be out there for him, go take it". Geno responds by saying "Thank you".

The next day he goes on twitter talking about how "Geno didnt express the same confidence in himself as Joe Namath did". See the funny sh*t with the media? Meanwhile, Jets fans that arent concerned about what actually happens just read and say "See, he's not a leader, he doesnt even have confidence in himself" when all Geno did was tell the guy that he was honoring Eric for his community service and responded by saying "thank you" for the alleged show of support during the moment...only for this guy to try to sh*t on him on twitter later on. This is the media in a nutshell. They sell stories for shock-value and people eat it up for as long as it fits the narrative. Anway, this was our back-and-forth regarding this bullsh*t report.

So as you can see, when this media guy is called out on his bullsh*t by me he first tries to justify "making up a story" then when he realizes that im not "one of those guys" he simply says "go back to playing video games, im done with you". This is also a guy that I noticed that if there's anything being reported from someone else that is negative "Rich Cimini reports that Geno threw an INT in OTA's/Minicamp" this guy retweets it, however, if its something that puts Geno in a positive light....you dont see a f'ing thing.

Media dude completely fabricated a story for clickbait on his twitter feed and gave zero sh*ts about it. Yet, if a media guy says Geno called him a d  khead, Jets fans being anti-Geno wont even wonder what happened or led up to him calling him a d  khead, they just use it as ammunition to further beat on a guy that they dont even know personally. They'll report about how Geno cursed out a group of fans when we all know how fans heckle him and disrespect him when he's on the field after finishing their 5th 4th qtr beer. They ignore the fact that they got what they deserved, but only concentrate on the fact that it makes him look bad....and thats the point.

The guys in the media are fans as well, and if they are as anti-Geno as many of the people here on this very website are, then what the heck do you think the tweets/reports going to look like? I literally caught a guy making up a story, called him out on it and he didnt give a rats ass....though when he was in Geno's face he was all "its all yours Geno, go get it". Fake ass people as usual. When they're over the internet on twitter, they say all types of salty stuff, however when they get around Geno and his celebrity status, they're all humble and "Go Geno" with it. lol.

The media (particularly NY Metro area) can be d**shbags ... And the LEADER of the team has to be able to withstand that through the good and the bad.

i'm sure despite finding an example of a media d**sh liar ... You must be willing to accept there have been plenty of times Geno has been the one at fault showing poor skills in this area ... As pointed out numerous times by previous posters.

this behavior pattern shows he is not able to handle just himself in NY  ... Little less while carrying a team on his back.

geno can't do it ... Richard Todd couldn't do it .... Heck a much more talented and better player Philip Rivers has struggled with the San Diego media ... Unless everything fell perfectly, even he would probably fail in NY ... If Rivers can't ... No way in h*ll Geno succeeds

I agree 100% with what your saying. My point however is really less about finding a particular douche bag in the media being caught fabricating a story for clicks and more about Jets fans in general not learning how to "let things go". Im absolutely willing to accept that there are plenty of times that Geno showed poor skills in this area, but im also willing to accept that its to be expected by a 21, 22, 23 year old. In otherwords, im willing to let it go. Jets fans are like the bane of their own existence with all this holding on to every negative thing that is ever said...EVER. Let it go already. The leader of the team has to be able to withstand the media or any other obstacle, but at the same time he has to learn how to do that. Geno's 25 years old, and though he plays a leadership role (Quarterback) he still has to learn how to actually be a leader (why I later on thought Fitz was a good signing in that regard as well as Rex and crew being fired and Bowles/Gailey coming in was a great move).

My problem comes in when I continuously see fans posting things of yesteryear with a "negative filter". Example: His "behind the back" fumble in just his 4th professional game ever. They add this to the mix of him not being a leader, however they completely ignore his 1st ever professional game when he led the Jets to a game winning drive with 34 seconds left on the clock and no timeouts after the defense gave up the lead, or his 2 min game winning drive against the Falcons in just his 5th professional game after the defense gave up the lead with 1:54 left in the game. This all happened during the same season, yet as usual what do you only hear about? My problem isnt people disliking Geno as a football player. Everyone knows that I'd prefer Glennon RIGHT NOW if it was possible. However, continuously beating a dead horse, continuously bringing up a fumble that happened 3 years ago while ignoring everything else that he did positive that year while also at the same time ignoring Fitz 11 year history of much of the same is truly, truly old at this point.

Why should I care that he sent picks to a nursing student when Brett Favre did the same thing when he was a Jet? No one is talking about Brett Favre. I agree that he needs to handle situations better, however he's been doing EXACTLY THAT this entire offseason yet what do you hear about? $600 from last year, nude pics from his rookie season, calling a reporter a d  khead, cursing out Jets fans who deserved it 2 years ago. You dont continuously hear about him supporting Decker when Decker didnt even support him this offseason, or him meeting with that QB guru again to work on his pocket presence, or him down in Florida keeping sharp with Odell and crew, not about the relationship that he's created with his own WR Kenbrell Thompkins, not about him taking rookie WR's under his wing and doing sessions with them, not about his work with kids he's done this offseason in his own community. You dont hear that daily at all. You know what you hear? "He didnt adjust his watch and was late to a meeting in San Diego 2 years ago". Seriously, let the sh*t go already. Not you specifically, im generally speaking here. Just let it go already. We f'ing know what happened in San Diego. We hear it every 15 minutes lol.

Sure, I agree with you, but there's a point where all of this is straight excessive and unnecessary and in all reality hateful. I've heard jets fans call this dude everything from being stupid to  being a drug dealer to being the next Sheldon Richardson with a mugshot.

Let it go already Jets fans. It gets to the point where it stops making Geno look bad and it makes Jets fans look pretty f'ing lame.

My problem isnt disliking Geno as a football player.

Good post

i would debate you on 2 points still though

1. The amount of negative that Geno has built up over his time here is quite large in comparison to the amount of positive that you bring up.  So he really needs to be working extra hard to try and dig out of that hole.  The other part of this is performance wise we've seen a flat-line to his career  ... Rather than an upward trajectory that would give us more than blind faith hope at improved performance.

2. The other major point that I don't believe you're seeing.  I agree that a young kids game performance could be filled with more mistakes & errors in judgement than a player in years 4-5-6 etc (with external factors all being equal) ... But I really don't care how Fitz play compared 11 years ago, as a 21 year old in determining how he will do for the NYJ in 2016.  His recent history & Geno's recent history are stronger factors than what either did over a decade ago.
