What the plan is/What will actually happen

Recommended Posts

Rodgers is a panic move that will cost everyone their jobs.

Joe D needs to stay the course.  Sign jimmy g to a reasonable deal.  Keep all our draft picks and keep building through the draft.  Use the money u would be spending on rodgers to sign free agents.

Stay the course!!!!  Do not panic!!!  We are heading in the right direction!!  Dont make the fatal mistake of bringing in rodgers.

JD should stay, but he has to move on from ZW and fix the OL

Saleh is a dead man walking and he did it to himself

The Hackett hire just confirms his incompetence and has sealed his fate (unless they get A-Rod, which ain’t happening)

What happened to all the thank yous?  Post London Woody?  Saleh and Douglas the best coach/GM tandem in the league?  20 years of success and multiple Super Bowls?  Man they broke you completely and all it took was a 7 game losing streak.

and he doesnt like David Carr. so there's that.

The plan? Acquire Aaron Rodgers. Go all in. Whip fan base into a frenzy. He coasts for a year, then retires. Team collapses. Bottoms out after two seasons after his retirement. Jets get number one pick. Draft Arch Manning. Become a dynasty.

YOu just want to watch the world burn.

Come with me, if you will, on a journey….

It is the middle of June. Training camp. Hard Knocks is on campus, filming everything. The mood is light. The quarterback of the New York Jets, wearing #11, is Aaron Rodgers.
There is more media at these practices. ESPN’s A-block is all about Jets camp. People around the country are marveling at clips of Elijah Moore and Garrett Wilson catching laser-beam passes from Rodgers. Mike Evans, wearing the newly-available #2 jersey, talks about the challenges of learning a new offense. Not one story about Mekhi Becton’s BMI, no mentions of anyone completing five in a row during seven on sevens. Robert Saleh happily talks about his defense, Nate Hackett happily talks about his weapons on offense. Vegas has set their over/under for the Jets at 12.5.
A few weeks earlier, Mark Cannizaro wrote a long-form piece about how, two years ago, Rodgers lied about getting vaccinated and how ingloriously he was shuffled off from Green Bay and how he’s burned a lot of bridges in the league and in his personal life. Rodgers is quoted in the piece, re-hashing some of his meandering, obtuse thoughts on government and corporate control. That long-form piece notches less than 50,000 impressions online and its content is discussed in a Sportscenter C-block late on a Saturday that no one sees or cares about. Rodgers throws for a bunch of touchdowns in one particular practice session. Rosenblatt’s report on it notches 4,564,738 online impressions.

Get here^. Get to the middle of June, Aaron Rodgers in hand, positive vibes. Worry about November in November. Worry about the 2024 draft in 2024. Let the 2023 Jets not be moribund.
