This team is so fun

I do think they are going to wear down playing the big 3 all of these minutes. I think they need to trust Precious and Deuce with more minutes.

unreal how good Brunson is. He’s doing Jordan type of sh*t now

The refs were equal opportunity in their ineptitude. It was embarrassing watching them repeatedly screw up the final few minutes.

The blocking call at the end (as bad as it was) was technically a “foul”.  Nobody except the homerest of homers thought it was a good call though. That was home cooking for sure.

All in the final couple minutes:

•phantom kick ball (not reviewable for whatever reason)

•ticky tack foul sending Brunson to the line before the ball was inbounded

•horrendous moving screen call on Turner

If those calls went against the Knicks everyone here would be going scorched earth. It’s one thing to screw up one of those calls, but three? At the most crucial point of the game? A bit shady. Let’s kick it back to the studio for the post-game report sponsored by FanDuel Sportsbook.

I totally agree the Knicks got the benefit of those calls down the stretch. Go back and look at my other posts after the game discussing the refs with others, I said it there.

When I said the “equal opportunity in their ineptitude” I didn’t mean the calls balanced out, I was commenting on how many bad calls the refs were making on both sides throughout the game. I agree they jobbed the Pacers down the stretch, abd maybe I should’ve worded it differently responding to you.
Where I do disagree with you though is when you imply intent on their part because of a gambling connection. That’s something that’s tossed around way too easily now with legalized gambling and tbh I think it’s a lazy take.
Let’s not pretend home teams never got calls in the final moments before you could bet online.

I think these refs showed everyone the moment got too big for them and that resulted in a bunch of home cooking whistles to finish the game. That happens a lot in the NBA, and other sports as well… always has.

How about in the first half when Hartenstein was "blocked" going to the hoop and by blocked I mean the defender jumped on him and draped his entire arm on top of his head. lmao

I know it's the garden and I aint mad, I'm a ******* Jets, Mets, Knicks, Islanders fan so I'll take whatever I can get but man, it's so hard to trust the NBA when you know a ref went to prison for fixing games.  lol

The kick ball and the moving screen calls were both really bad, but dude grabbed Brunson and turned his hip before the ball was inbounded. That was just a really dumb foul.

I really couldn't care any less about the Knicks benefitting from some really sh*tty officiating this postseason. There has been no more screwed over fanbase and screwed over franchise for the last 25 years than the New York Knicks and their fans. From injuries to league screw jobs to a complete disregard for literally anything and everything from the top-down and bottom-up. Anyone complaining can strap on the world's smallest violin and shove it up their b-hole. Breaking news, it's not so fun when the rabbit has a gun. Go refs, go Knicks.

My theory: There has been an absurd explosion the last couple years, and this season especially, in explosive fast-paced nonstop scoring and it's even become a different style since the Warriors' run. Officiating is struggling to keep up with it and has been all season. There's a reason some of the offenses, and the Pacers especially, have been historic this year. I think it's always been this way, the game changes with each era and officiating always gets left back a couple years. If I was a ref who had finally gotten used to three-ball I'd have a hard time keeping up with Brunson and Haliburton every second of every game too.

My overarching point is the league has agendas with officiating. That’s why we saw the Patriots get favorable calls the entire Brady era and now it’s the Chiefs and Mahomes. I’m sure the league is salivating over a Boston-New York conference final. The Lakers always get calls historically too. Throw in the legal sportsbooks now and it adds another dimension of shadiness. I wasn’t really implying gambling was affecting the refereeing last night; just pointing out the overall landscape and how it can look crooked.

Hopefully I’m wrong and it was just incompetence and we’ll see a fairly called series.

I think you’re one of the better posters here, but if I recall correctly, you’re in your early 30’s?

Trust me when I tell you, everything you said here about officiating? Fans have been saying the same exact things for the 50 plus years I’ve been following sports.

You might find it hard to believe, but it’s better now. At least they have replay to correct some of the incompetency.

I’m 30, and thanks. I don’t think I’m wearing a tin foil hat when I point out superstar treatment for certain players or for big teams/markets. And we do have an NBA official caught fixing games in recent memory. Again, not implying last night was fixed but the NBA has earned its skepticism when they call the game that poorly.

I’ll take whatever help the Knicks and Rangers and Jets are allotted to end the curse! We can worry about tomorrow high ground after the victory parade down the Canyon of heroes!

Knicks are breaking down. Would be kind of miraculous if they keep this up.

never thought I would say this but we need precious to step up lol

He played well with Robinson, Randle, and OG out during the season

played a number of 40 minute games for us

Mitch is a huge loss, but Precious is capable

Any chance Robinson being hurt and Brunson being hurt spares us more complaining about things going the Knicks’ way?

Oh and Carlisle’s press conference was an embarrassment just now. He could have rightfully complained about Game 1 but took the high road, which I gave him props for. The level of whining tonight after you lost to a 1 legged Brunson with no OG down the stretch and no Mitch, in part because of your own asinine decision to leave McConnell on the bench, is a disgrace. These guys can’t take the fact that they’re getting outworked when it matters by an undersized, undermanned pack of rabid dogs with balls the size of Rick Carlisle’s bald Jim Carrey-looking head night after night. Go Knicks.

We’re all gonna be in here bitching about how the refs are screwing us once the games in Indiana begin later this week, so yeah. Nice rant, I guess.

If the Knicks blow a 12 point lead after the Pacers lose their two best players for large stretches of the game, while Thibs sits his players who are playing the best on the bench for the entire 4th quarter, I promise you I won’t come in here and start off complaining about how the refs are helping out small market teams because they huddled up and made the correct call.

He did. The kid balled tonight. Hartenstine had a monster game too.

The Villanofun trio is incredible, night after night logging minute after minute.

You might be the only one, I’ll be screaming bloody murder! 😉

If game 3 gets out of hand early, I wouldn’t mind if it got REALLY out of hand tbh. It might help big picture to let the starters sit out a quarter or more. Especially if Mitch, OG and Jalen aren’t 100%. These guys are logging way too many minutes.

Absolutely. It’s amazing how they not only haven’t run out of gas, but they’re actually better the further into the game it gets. Hart should be studied in a lab after this season is over. But it just can’t be sustainable to play every minute of every game.

They’re a gritty team, man. You love to see it. I have been this into the NBA since the Pat Riley/Jeff Van Gundy era.
