This is the first I have heard about the Jets signing Eric Watts as an UDFA. Another guy with talent and a draftable grade. He's sort of JFM-like, a bigger end with run-stopping size and some rush ability:

Good one!

If they would pf drafted him in rd 4 i would of been happy with it . Huge upside here. I think with  our coaching staff he could become a good  one.

Taylor makes the team.  Book it.

Hartman stinks.

That's not important.  He's a top candidate to make Woody's secret private photo gallery of shirtless Jets QBs.  In fact, that's Woody's hand caressing Tebow's tired muscles:

I wouldn't be surprised if we end up getting more production from our UDFAs than we do from our day 3 picks.

Considering the % of UDFA on rosters far exceeds that of 5th, 6th, 7th rounders, you'll probably end up being right.

UDFA WR thoughts:

LOL... the Texans signed both Janke brothers from S Dak St.  I wanted the Jets to get Jaxon.  It's going to suck for that family when the Texans cut one but not the other this summer.

Raiduhs signed Griffin.  Another one that I hoped was considered by JD.

Coker is still there.  I will be mad if JD doesn't go get him.

I see Coker to Carolina on PFN's UDFA list

he wont be used as a NT here. Hopefully he gets back 22’ form

JFM like

8.48 Taylor III, Leonard | Miami | Miami, FL | Proj Rd: 2-3
Height: 6034 | Weight: 303 | 40: 5.12 | Arm: 3378 | Hand: 0900 | Wingspan: 8058
Junior entry, two year starter. Second-team All-ACC in 2022-2023. Big and
athletic with an ideal frame for a three technique. Was an imposing figure
on the Hurricanes’ defensive front. Has a good mix of power and athleticism
and lined up at multiple spots on the Cane’s defense including zero, one,
three, and five techniques. Was most often used at the interior spots in 2023
with significant reps at nose tackle. With extreme first step quickness he
can get into a gap and penetrate the backfield, disrupting blocking schemes
along the way. He flashes powerful hands to separate from blocks and clog
running lanes. Excellent lateral movement he can flatten down the line and
make plays along the line of scrimmage. Shows a high motor penetrating
and pursuing. Has range for a big man to chase down backs across the
field. Solid tackling in chase mode. As a five technique he can work the
outer edges of a blocker and locate the ball. As an interior pass rusher he’s
explosive engaging with strong hands and lower body strength to push the
pocket with a bull rush. He also flashes the ability to disengage and chase
the quarterback. Could use more pass rush technique to be more reliable
escaping blocks. Has a tendency to get upright and lose leverage against a
powerful blocker. Struggles to fight pressure against down blocks and drive
blocks on double teams. Has had streaks where he’s easily handled by interior
blockers. Needs to develop consistency in pad level as he can come off high
at times at the snap. His 2023 tape wasn’t as good as 2022 and he’s still a work
on progress. Has the tools and upside to develop, but so far the production
hasn’t quite matched up. 2023 Stats: 19 T, 3.5 TFL, 1 sack, 1 QBH

only 7?

The 6-foot-6, 320-pound offensive tackle joined Louisville last offseason as a transfer from Rutgers, and slid in as the Cardinals' go-to blindside blocker, earning an All-ACC honorable mention by the end of the season. He started all 14 games at left tackle, and allowed only seven sacks, one quarterback hit and 18 quarterback hurries over 476 pass block snaps and 893 total blocking snaps.
