Non Jets training camp news around the league.....

Field Yates ⁦‪@FieldYates‬⁩

Here’s an interesting one: the Bills tried out former Titans and Jets WR Corey Davis. The former 5th overall pick in draft unretired after a year away and is now seeking a return to the league.

Yep. Sperm put a filter in. Works the same way that it does when you type **** you and it instead shows up as asterisks, except that it replaces the letters in that abhorrent nickname with Sperm Edwards is the greatest!!! OMG I love-love-love him!!!

Wait…shouldn’t the Jets still hold his rights?   He retired while under contract with tbe Jets or did the FO geniuses release him from the contract?

Jets released him back in March

I can’t remember if by retaining his rights it also meant retaining his cap amount. Thus having less $$ for FA

Basically yes. To get out from under the cap hit the jets released him.

So the Jets weren’t as dumb as some immediately implied.

Especially since it’s been 5 months later and Davis is still on the street (so of 8/14 7:00pm)

Yep, updated information came out: it was a full repair (not just a trim) and the timetable for his specific surgery has him not back until after the regular season. Still a chance he gets back this year, but it's now unlikely.

That wasn't known until a little bit ago

There is ZERO chance that McCarthy will be back at any point this season.

A Corey Davis sighting;

Bills hosted free agent WR Corey Davis for a workout.

Davis retired just before the start of the 2023 season but has since decided to attempt a comeback. The Jets released him early in the offseason, allowing him to sign with any team willing to take a shot on him. The Bills are shockingly thin at wide receiver heading into the season, creating a need for extra depth at the position. Davis won’t be a fantasy-relevant option in Buffalo, but he could provide the team with a veteran presence as they attempt to figure out their rotation.

Cowboys signed DE Carl Lawson, formerly of the Jets.

Lawson becomes the latest veteran lineman to join the Cowboys after they went out and traded for Giants defensive tackle Jordan Phillips yesterday. Lawson saw limited playing time with the Jets last season, appearing in just six games while totaling five tackles and no sacks. Lawson, 29, was a healthy scratch in several of the Jets’ games last year and voiced his displeasure over last year’s lack of playing time. We’ll see if he can find a way to contribute more to the Cowboys, who are in need of help along the defensive front.

How funny would it be for Lawson to knock Becton on his a$s, as he blows past him for a strip-sack of Jalen Hurts?

Probably Lawson's best chance for a sack....😁

Jeremy Fowler @JFowlerESPN

#Falcons are restructuring the contract of Pro Bowl guard Chris Lindstorm, moving part of his $12.5M base salary into a signing bonus, per sources. This will give Atlanta needed cap space to maneuver.

IMO leading to a Judon re-worked contract

Yeah he's likely good for less than 40 plays before his back puts him back on IR. Against Becton he could likely get to double digit sacks and lead the league in 40 plays. He's got that soft fools number!
