Purdy might be running for his life. The line has dropped from 5 to 3.5. If the choice was between having both Trent Williams & Hassan Reddick playing or not playing, I'd easily choose both of them being out.

Especially the last 5 years. Nobody plays in preseason anymore. Week 1 and 2 are very “wonky” and should be taken with a grain of salt

No? The Jets are broadly considered to be a laughingstock. They win the first six and you’ll still be able to throw a hot dog through the bandwagon and not hit anybody.
Joe W. Namath
Guys, the formula is pretty simple. 25 touches for Breece Hall and we win this game. 20 carries, 5 receptions. If we do this, we win the game. Breece is by far the best player on the team. 25 touches and the Jets win this game. Anything less than 25, the Jets will lose.

So I guess the Jets CS should already have plays 1-25 scripted, huh? BTW what happens if the 49ers do the same with CMC? 1

Yes to the JD era, and if not the best, possibly one of the best in the Woody era. Again, none of this will mean squat if we finish the season 9-8 and out of the playoffs. There will be people looking for work, and JD and Saleh will be two of them.

ARodJetsFan
NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo reports the 49ers are “not close” to a deal with LT Trent Williams. Williams has said he won’t report to the team until his contract includes more guaranteed money. Williams, 36, has skipped the entire offseason program and is looking somewhat less likely to be ready for Week 1 against the Jets. Williams’ absence would be a blow to Brock Purdy and the San Francisco offense. 2h ago Source: Mike Garofolo

Protecting your own QB is a necessity. As I stated earlier, if the choice is between having both of them play or both of them out it's easy. We'd want them both out. Advantage Jets. jetstream23
The last matchup between Saleh and Shanahan went to the 49ers (2020). The most important matchups for Aaron Rodgers vs. the 49ers went to the 49ers every single time. Rodgers is 6-7 all-time vs. San Fran but a surprising 0-4 in the playoffs including a painful 2020 NFC Championship loss and a 2022 NFC Divisional defeat. Aside from all the other reasons like simply getting the season off to a good start, beating the 49ers would be a way for the Rodgers and Saleh to really get a monkey off their backs and avenge some losses.
