At what point in the last 3 years, did you feel like Saleh was in complete control and navigated the situation with cunning prudence?

He wasn't fired because of our W/L record. He failed to evolve as a HC. He failed to be a reason why we won games and overcame circumstances. He was gift wrapped a top 5 roster. We are 2-3 and look even worse. That is Saleh's sword to fall on. Too many excuses for too long.

He wasn't the worst Jets HC, but he also wasn't THE man to get us to the next level.

This. he actually seems to be antagonistic to overall team success at the expense of his "championship" defense. It almost seemed like the antagonism between the offense and defense was a feature not a bug of his system. he treated the offense almost as a disregarded entity

Saleh is responsible for the offense, he was supposed to take a hands on approach this season. It's failure falls squarely on him.

The offense had issues with MiLF. Issues because of Zach and the OL.

Saleh hired Hackett, they brought in an entirely new OL and a future HOF at QB.  Eventually you have to say, maybe the issue isn't all of the other pieces, maybe...just maybe, its the leader of this team.

indeed, a few of us have been discussing that very theme. He was never able to truly ascend out of his DC headspace.

Rampant lack of accountability is a leadership issue.  Including the captains

The entire reason everyone blamed on losing for 3 yrs was zach wilson, so there was no other real reason to find another.  Everyone knew he was terrible.  But now that rodgers is playing, and mostly playing well enough to win and score points, there has to be some other kind of accountability.

We all know what happened.  Rodgers sucked the last 2 weeks, had 3 ints last week and wanted none of the blame on him.  The perfect diversion was to fire the head coach and he put out the code red.

The accountability stuff is laughable as the ones who need to be held accountable are Hackett and Rodgers and they are not

The Jets are feeding you a sh!t sandwich and telling you its filet mignon.  And as usual, jets fans are eating it up.

What planet do you live on?  RS was a terrible HC, period.  As for accountability RS never heald anyone, as in anyone, esp. himself... You support a guy that weeped after AR went down  and complained about media coverage.... dude only S sandwich is coming from you....

The media's job is to create controversy for clicks.  If Kyle Brandt really believes what he said then he's absolutely clueless.

He's talking like Robert Saleh was "Head Coach Of The Defense", not the whole team.  And now that the so called "defensive mastermind" is no longer here, let's see if the Jets' defense falls off at all.  My money is that it won't.  And if that's the case then Saleh was the single most useless person on the entire CS.

Robert Saleh was a huge part of the problem and was as deserving of this firing as any HC in recent memory.  He never should've been brought back this year to begin with.  He was all hot air and excuses.  "AGNB", "It's early", "It's the nothing part of football".

If anyone was scapegoated, it was Zach Wilson.

Judging from Ciminis article today it sounded like Woody was fed up with Salehs extreme patience for everything. Also, Elhai the team president appears involved in the football decisions and is ahead of Douglas in any pecking order the Jets have.
