JetNation.com Who's the Biggest Clueless Homer here?

Smizzy

Recommended Posts

Thats a hollow charge on smizzy's part...and a hollow piling-on on the part of AirFarce, Jetlag and others...both common events here.

Exactly where in this entire thread did I even come close to mentioning you?

Dude your ego is out of control, believe it or not, not every Yanks fan cares about what you think.

SS - Montreal Canadiens = 24 Championships, New York Yankees = 26 Championships. How exactly are they better?

you piled on 80 and SS...and he brings more to the table than the Yankee ballwashers

Notice how 80 isn't here to defend himself....Want to know why?

Becauss he is cowering in a dark room, shivering in a corner, mumbling to himself "I thought the Mess turned the corner, turned the corner"

Yankees fans talking about how they like Yankees players better then other teams players is Yankee ballwashing? Dude get a grip, if that's true then you can just replace the term "fan" with "ballwasher" in regards to any team in any sport.

I suspect that some people who claim to idolize Zippy the pinhead are, in reality, only intersted in building message board traffic.

Zippy is good for that, no doubt. Not good for anything else, mind you...

The traffic in this baseball forum is really good.

For that we do owe Bosox. Cmon up and get your award. Actually TomShane is waiting for you in the back alley. He will show you what you won.

Here is the rundown on just about everyone here.

1) JonE: Annointed by yours truely as " The Greatest Red Sox hater in the history of all those who have hated the Red Sox is the Yankee version of JBF. Earns monster homer points for sticking with (or is it sticking it to) Giambi when everyone including Yankee fans were running him out of town.

2) JBF: For every great hero their has to be an adversary and for JonE that is JBF. He is the David Koresh of the baseball forum along with Confederacy of Idiots love to make this board hell for the greatest fans in all of baseball. Now to call JBF a Red Sox homer is an out and out lie. He has maybe 2 posts about the Red Sox in this whole forum

A) his opening night tirade against David Wells

B) Congrats to Manny on his 400th hr

C) Curt Schilling ball washing.

I don't think this qualifies him as a Red Sox homer.

3) JF80: Has no expectaions for his team so that does not qualify him as a homer.

4) EB50: If there was a JetNation Connecticut school of Broadcasting scholarship he should get it. If Chris Russo is the Mad Dog then he is the angry puppy. Loving his team one minute, blasting them the next and he does back up his words. His sparring sessions with Garb could very well reach legendary status.

5) GJH: Disqualified for too many taking too many mulligans.

Tom Shane: May very well be the ulitmate homer. First he doesn't want Willie then when the Mets are good Willie is great, then the Mets go bad and he wants Herm fired. Believes that Reyes > Jeter. Huge homer points but not enough to overtake JonE.

Wow. I didn't even get a bio on my own board.

Now what should I do with this months hosting bill?

24? Last I heard they had 27, pal

Oh, and there's Man U. Y'know.. since you did say the world and all. The Yankees don't even come close to Manchester United.

 I'M a Mets HOMER now? You gotta be kidding me. Actually, allow me to help you Yankee fans out with something you're rarely in touch with: it's called reality.

Ahem.

OK, as a Mets fan I operate with the understanding that my team, though it leads the NL in payroll, is not run like some bizarre fantasy baseball squad. The Mets lead the NL in payroll and are still paying HALF of what the Yankees are paying their payroll of stiffs. For the price of the Yankees, you can field TWO Mets teams, TWO Red Sox teams, THREE Oriole teams, SEVEN Twins teams, SEVEN A's teams and TEN Devil Rays or Royals teams. Consider that for a second--the Mets and Red Sox could merge rosters TODAY and still cost less than the Yankees COMBINED.

Now, given that, as a Mets fan I looked at our roster at the beginning of the year and figured on a 90-92 win team at best. My team has serious holes right now that I know, because my team does not play with monopoly money, will have to be filled by a farm system or another year of free agency. Now, if I was a YANKEE fan, I would scream and whine that we have to go rip off some small market team for another $10 million dollar player to come in and replace the $20 million dollar player that we got last year that has broken down. The Yankees throw money away like it's a joke. Hell, they just threw $8 million dollars worth of salary out the window with Quantrill and Stanton a month ago, did they not? That kind of loss would FOLD some teams. But that's how the Yankees win. They don't win because they're a great organization, they win because they sodomize the system that is in place. How well do you think the Yankees would do if there was a salary cap in place? Eh? With Melky Cabrera in center and Russ Johnson at first? Your team has spent $208 million dollars and you don't have one guy that can track down a fly ball in center field. Not one. You want to tell me you're a great organization? You're proud when you see the $20 million dollar Randy Johnson pitching to a 4 ERA, the $24 million dollar ARod fielding grounders at third, the $19 million dollar Derek Jeter at SS and the $20 million dollar steroid criminal at first base? Not to mention the $14 million dollar cancer in right field? This makes you proud? I guess that's what 'Yankee Pride' is all about. Denial.

No, JEJ, I work.

Here is the simple reason I am no homer: Ever since the beginning of the season, I have stood by my prediction the Mets would finish 3rd and around .500. I DEFY YOU to find me ONE THREAD where I was "talking playoffs for the Mess".

Of course, some of you Yankee fans, like shawn in particular, want to have it both ways. He attacks me for NOT having high expectations for the Mets, when I haven't had a REASON TO for 5 years.

Clueless? Maybe. Blind Yankee hater? Definitely. Homer? **** off.

"Ehhh he he. We have a $208 million dollar payroll and we're better than the Mets. He He He. Sure we can't win our division and that $200 mil bought us the right to endure the biggest choke job in sports history last year, but we're better than the Mets! eh he he he"

That's where you're wrong. Yankee fans don't care about being better then the Mets enough to bring it up, unless provoked.

I think that's what happens to most Yanks fans. I know that even here in Cincy, I'll wear my Yanks gear and don't ever brag about them. Then someone has to bring up how anyone could like the Yanks and how they're an unfair team..blah blah blah. That's when the so-called "Yankee fan arrogance" comes out.

I know that's true with myself. I'm not a very confrontational Yankee fan unless baited then anything is fair game.

Ya know I still love ya Shaney.

I hear ya, Lag. The crying is SO tiring, and it never ends.

Especially here.

I agree, Bob. You crying about Mets fans attacking the juggernaut Yankees is really getting old. I mean, we're the ones who admit readilly that our team is 2nd class citizens, yet when we tell it like it is about the Yankees and enjoy their failures, you all can't handle it, even though you out-number us 50:1!

Gee, awful big of you to acknowledge that the mets are second class citizens....you guys are right up there with LA Clippers fans being so kind to give the Lakers their props.

100 million dollars is monopoly money to teams like the the Nats and D-Rays, Brewers etc.

Would you like to me to run thru the list of stiffs that have graced Mets pinstripes the last couple of years.

Glavine

Vaughn

Alomar

Piazza (While great during the early part of his contract he is a stiff now).

That is just off the top of my head I'm sure there are a few more in there.

Alot of cash paid out for 3 guys who have been busts. Can I add Mel Rojas to that list as well.

As far as the Yanks are concerned, You should ALL be thankful that there is a guy like Steinbrenner who is willing to take on your mistakes. Sign Kevin Brown to a ridiculous contract, NO problem just trade him to the Yankees. Hey we made a mistake signing A-Rod to this deal let's trade him to the Yankees and get a cheaper dynamic player is Soriano.

Heck if I were Omar I would be on the phone everyday begging the Yankees the to take Glavine off their hands.

I think though those days may be over.

I'll leave you with one more thought.

Sox fans and Mets fans crying about the Yankees payroll is like Trump crying about Bill Gates. Big Yawn.

Wrong, as always. If you gnats weren't buzzing around our heads, we would not even notice you.

If it weren't for us "gnats", this whole forum would just be in a race to ball-wash the Yankees all the time. You need us and our Devil's advocate point of view to make things interesting. Admit it, without JBF, myself, TS, SJ, Garb, etc, this forum would be pathetic.

No, it's haters like you and JBF that are pathetic.

SJ and Garb are absolutely excluded from that category, btw. They're actual baseball fans.

TS, well, he's just trying to drive up message board traffic. Can't hate him for that.

80...why even waste your time? First and foremost, forget all that nonsense about who is a second-class citizen. Everyone has a team that they support. But for the past decade the face of baseball has been altered and an additional plot has developed, forcing us all to swear allegiance to one side or the other. Yup, it is Yankees-vs-the World whether the JN.com yahoos like JEJ, EB, Bob the porn stache, and smizzy want to acknowledge it or not.

Believe me, the Yankee homers get it...they just dont want to admit that they get it. They know we receive an obscene amount of glee when the Yankees lose, unlike anything else in all of sports that we have ever seen before. They dont receive the same joy when our teams lose, regardless of their claims. They dont even receive the same satisfaction when the Yankees win that we receive when our team wins.

Face it...we are on a 4-year winning streak and counting and the Yankee homers are on a 4-year slide. Now you tell me who the REAL 2nd class citizens are.

Yes, we know that. We think it's childish and sad.

"But you can't stop something that's inside of you!" (Toby McGuire, Pleasantville)

If you want it to stop, maybe you should tell your fellow Yankee fans to, oh, think a little before creating such threads as "2005 Yankees: Juggernaut", "Derek Jeter, the best SS in baseball" or "The Streak: Part II" or "Giambino!" or "Uncle Al" or "The Mess: What a Mess!"

I REALLY enjoy this baseball forum. You all do too, admit it. This is FAR superior to the other forums. It's fun.

That said, everyone here HAS to know that the Sox AND Yankess are in serious trouble and neither team has the horses (pitchers) to even sniff a WS. Either team would need a miracle - a reverse of a call - a tuck rule call....something like that!

mussina and rj are as good of a 1-2 punch as there is

if pavano goes back to form the yankees might put it on cruise control

Ok I take it back. EB50 is the biggest Homer here.

If you're actually counting on Pavano to come back and do ANYTHING, you're in for a glutten of punishment.

Does the fact that I proved Jeter was and is the best SS in baseball count?

Count that you're the biggest homer? Yup. Jeter never was the best shortstop in baseball. Better than Normar? That's debatable. Better than Alex Rodriguez? Boy, you're dumb! Jeter is, at best, right now, the 7th best shortstop in the bigs.

Besides, if he had such great leadership skills and those intangibles you just can't measure, wouldn't the Yanks be in first?
