jetsrule128
No link, just heard it on the radio. In one of their last updates, so literally a one liner "Jets and Mike Tannenbaum interested in Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who won three games as a starter last year for the Cinncinati Bengals". No interest. Rat v. Clemens v. Ainge.

BroadwayJoe12
what what what what what what what this would be the stupidest move of all time It's not as if they are annointing him the future starter, they could just want another body to compete for the job. If Ratty or Clemens can't beat him out than we have a lot bigger issues to worry about than just signing Fitzpatrick.
uart
He'd be cheap, and he would have to compete for a spot on the depth chart. I don't hate it...
ZachEY
He'd be cheap, and he would have to compete for a spot on the depth chart. I don't hate it... Agreed. There's no one floating out there that I want starting, so I just want a guy with some experience who's inexpensive as the 'veteran pickup'. Samphin
Ryan Fitzpatrick? oooof. At this point, I would just drive down to Union and ask Artie Lange to play QB. He couldn't be any worse.
124
Wouldn't upset me at all, Fitzpatrick wasn't horrible by any means. He is guy with starting experience that would come on the cheap. However, if we are to bring him in we have to bring a more experienced veteran like Byron Leftwich, J.P. Losman, Jon Kitna or Rex Grossman as well. PatriotReign37
Fitzpatrick went to Harvard and had the highest wonderlic score in his draft. IIRC, it was

However, I was on his jock when he started for the 1st time and threw 5 TD's. I wasn't on his nuts more than you were on Bowens' tho.

Stonehands
That's the kind of guy we need to bring in. He has no entitlement to the starting job and if he beats out Ainge..so be it.

Brad Kassell? Jason Trusnick? Cody Spencer? Bring in Fitz & Leftwich and have a five way competition.

sirlancemehlot
He'll come cheap. Auburn said the same thing. I'm far too immature to leave this alone. stoicsentry
I do not want to see Kitna or Fitz here but the fact is if we were going to get a veteran QB they are some of the cheapest so it would fulfill the need and leave us with some cap room for a move or two. So if the rumor is true that says to me that Rex thinks our QB is on this team already. Let Ratliff, Clemens and Ainge compete with Kitna/Fitz and one of the first 3 will win the competition.
