F.Chowds
Jan 25, 2011 4:55 PM ET Despite Sunday's crushing defeat by the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez and wide receiver Braylon Edwards partied until the early hours at a New York club where they spent more than $2,500, The New York Post reported Tuesday. While Jets fans mourned, Sanchez drowned his sorrows by knocking back shots and chatting up the pretty bartender at Chelsea's Juliet Supper Club after arriving at 3 a.m. ET Monday, while Edwards ordered a $1,100 bottle of Ace of Spades Champagne and tequila shots for his table. Even though he is a free agent and may not be brought back, Edwards was bullish about the team. He went to the DJ booth, grabbed the microphone and told the crowd — which included actor Greg Bello, Knicks player Roger Mason and model Tyson Beckford — that "the Jets will be back next season and will go all the way to the Super Bowl." A source said: "Mark sat with Braylon for a short while, but soon enough he was back at the bar flirting with the bartender, a gorgeous South American girl — busty with long, dark-reddish hair. They were doing shots together, and he kept whispering in her ear and holding her hand. He looked pretty enamored and was at the bar until closing time." The source added, "He went home alone, but phone numbers were exchanged. Edwards' bill came to around $2,500." The players closed down the club at 4:30 a.m. local time. Edwards, who was charged with DUI in September, left in a chauffeur-driven Escalade. One source said, "The club got all the players drivers after that incident. They were taking no chances." A rep for the Jets did not return a call for comment. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/new-york-jets-stars-mark-sanchez-braylon-edwards-party-like-champs-after-loss-012511

Who gives a flying F*ck what they are doing with their money.
SMC
Why wouldn't people be okay with it? What better way to wash away misery with booze & babes???
F.Chowds
I did not state my opinion. I was asking if you where OK with it was not a indictment of their actions. BTW I think what they did was fine.
Jerichoholic
Seasons over. Let them be regular guys. After a disappointing week on the job, I don't hesitate to go out for a few drinks and take a cab home.
stoicsentry
Seasons over. Let them be regular guys. After a disappointing week on the job, I don't hesitate to go out for a few drinks and take a cab home. ..and I'm also glad that Braylon was saying things like he supposedly did here. Clearly while I'm sure he was upset, he's still talking up the team... we WILL be back, BE and hopefully you will too... ...nice to see that. Also, get a cab. (Or a limo for godsakes)

Jetsfan80
Maybe Braylon will make another dumb decision. That would make our decision easy in choosing which receiver to re-sign; him or Holmes.
flgreen
Maybe Braylon will make another dumb decision. That would make our decision easy in choosing which receiver to re-sign; him or Holmes. Why? Holmes already has two strikes. Edwards only has one, and wants to be here.
Integrity28
What do you mean "are we okay with this?" They are football players. I'd have done the same ******* thing... and guess how much I would give a sh*t if you were okay with it. Seriously guys, I'm pissed we lost too... but seriously, stop. The ONLY thing that bothers me is that Rex changed his message. He went from "anything less than a SuperBowl is a failure" to "we are the only team that made it to the AFC Championship both years, and that is positive." That is not what I want to hear from him. I want to hear - "we failed. we let the fans down. we let the city down. we let ourselves down. we want to strive to be perfect next year. same goal, more determination to reach it." I don't want to hear about silver linings from the coach. Silver linings are for fans to talk about, the coach... THIS coach... needs to keep his message the same. SuperBowl, no less. JetsFanInDenver
I dunno why we try to make a big deal out of this. To devote an entire article to it is just a waste of ink. And if they did devote an entire article to this atleast include the picture of the hot babe Mark was hitting on.

BroadwayJoe12
While it would be amazing if they were all so pissed off that they went into hiding and did nothing but prepare for the following season and rocky IV'd there way into the best shape of their lives, it's not realistic. If i just had the worst day of my entire year, I would either have a few drinks and head to bed or go out, get hammered and try to slay some strange. JoeWillie
No problem at all. But they must have some stamina. Play an NFL Championship Game in Pittsburgh at 6:30pm and end up in a NY Club doing shots of tequila 8 hours later? Chrissakes, hope they took a cab, at least.
