flgreen
NFL looking into internet video of Rex Ryan cursing at a fan Sunday night Published: Monday, November 14, 2011, 1:36 PM Updated: Monday, November 14, 2011, 1:46 PM By Jenny Vrentas/The Star-Ledger Follow Email Print William Perlman/The Star-LedgerRex Ryan's Jets lost to the rival Patriots, 37-16, Sunday night. The NFL is aware of a YouTube video showing Jets coach Rex Ryan cursing at a fan after Sunday night's 37-16 loss to the Patriots and will "take a look at it," according to a league spokesman. In the video, linked by CBS Sports, a fan shouted to Ryan as he walked off the field, "Hey Rex, Belichick is better than you." Ryan fired back at the fan, saying, "Shut the f--- up." For context, Ryan was fined $50,000 by the Jets in 2010 after a cell phone camera caught him flipping his middle finger at a fan during a mixed martial arts event in Florida. Patriots coach Bill Belichick appeared also to have been vocal with his emotions after the game, according to the New York Post. A Post report said as Belichick walked off the field with his son, Stephen, he said to him in celebration: “Thirty-seven points on the best defense in the league, suck my d---." The league spokesman said the Post report about Belichick concerned a private conversation.
Bleedin Green
So just to be clear... the NFL is considering disciplining Rex for his comments, but Belichick's are just a-ok? This league is such a pathetic ******* joke. Goodell may be the only person in the NFL who is a bigger useless **** at his job than Schitt-for-brains or Eric "Trips" Smith. JiFtheOracle
I dont know if anyone was there or saw this as well, but it looked like the entire bench was talking sh*t to the fans sometime in the 4th. Anyone see this on TV or hear any of it at the game?
FloridaJetsFan
I think the NFL should look into this - it's obvious Rex is delusional. In the video, heappears to deny what is a factual statement. Perhaps a little reality check might do him some good.
stoicsentry
I don't understand what the big deal is, to be honest. It's one thing if he walks up to some random person and curses them out. You've just suffered an emotional defeat, are walking off the field and someone is screaming in your ear that you suck. I would respond as he did. Gainzo
Nobody screamed in his ear that he sucks. Just told him Belli is better than you. Fact. Doesn't matter. I'm with stoicsentry on this as Rex was well within his rights to tell that d-bag to go f-himself.

This league is such a pathetic ******* joke. Goodell may be the only person in the NFL who is a bigger useless **** at his job than Schitt-for-brains or Eric "Trips" Smith. Please show me the video tape or a recording of Belichick saying this? That is the difference. Should he get fined? No. Will he? Who knows, but seeing Goodell is a former Jets' employee...chances are rex gets a call telling him to knock it off.

JetsFanInDenver
Belichick and his cronies are such experts on getting video tapes that I won't be surprised if the person who posted this video was from the Pats organisation who attended the game yesterday with a video camera! Scott Dierking
It is something you don't do. The NFL is a business, and Rex Ryan as an employee of that business is expected to act professionally. And yelling or berating paying customers of the business is not acting professionally. Just the way it is.

JetsFanInDenver
When the Patriots DBs of the Superbowl era are taught to skillfully grab the jersey it is cheating. When the Jets' DBs do the same thing............. Weak! The one comment i found astounding last nite was Collingsworth mentioning that Brady told him to highlight the grabs that JETS made. How whiny is that ? The Pats are definitely the whiniest group in the league and their fans have caught that tendecy as well. IIRC the Pats tendency to blatantly do so caused the league to enforce the 5 yard rule.

nodimwithere
Actually, Rex was just about out of camera view when he shouted to the fan "STFU". Rex's mouth has constantly written checks his team can't cash. He might do well to take his own advice on this one.

JoeWillie
I think Rex is a helluva defensive football coach, but he's starting to remind me more and more of his old man, and that's not good. He's beginning to be a real embarassment and his act is starting to wear real thin, at least on me.
PatriotReign37
Doesnt the NFL have more important things to worry about? Watch any NFL game and youll see a HC cursing on the sideline if you read his lips.
flgreen
Doesnt the NFL have more important things to worry about? Watch any NFL game and youll see a HC cursing on the sideline if you read his lips. Difference is he cursed directly at a fan, not a player. If you watch the video there is about a 9 YO kid in a Sanchez Jersey trying to high 5 the players as they come thru the tunnel. Not that he hasn't ever heard the F word before, but it is totally inappropriate from a HC. The difference between what Rex did, and what Bellichick did was Lil Bill said his in private. Rex should be, and will be fined

Somehow I just don't see Tom Coughlin behaving the same way... ever. It's called professionalism.
