I am so happy. Idzik is the man!

Thread Balance...

In all seriousness, I don't ever remember a time in Jets history where the fan base was as divided as it is now.

Seems to me that there are those who:

Love Rex, Love Idzik, Love Geno - Very happy Jet fans

Love Rex, Love Idzik, Hate Geno - So close, just need a QB

Love Rex, Hate Idzik, Love Geno - So close, just need a non cheap GM

Love Rex, Hate Idzik, Hate Geno - Not thrilled Jet fans, get Rex some players dammit!

Hate Rex, Love Idzik, Love Geno - Can we get a complete HC?

Hate Rex, Love Idzik, Hate Geno - In 6 years we will be unstoppable when Idzik finally gets us a QB and he is developed, and a complete HC!

Hate Rex, Hate Idzik (who cares about Geno, we suck!)

Obviously there are in-betweens on all of these, just way too many permutations for me right now.

I will say this, Rex, Idzik and Geno are following 3 guys who are among the most hated at their respective roles on the Jets of all time in Mangini, Tannenbaum and Sanchez.

Fan base is all over the place. I think part of this is because Idzik did not bring in his own HC which GM's usually do. I also think Rex is a guy who most Jet fans are emotional about, one way or another, more so than most HC's.

Next few years are going to be very interesting years in Jet land.

You must be new around here.

Yeah, I am new around here, but been a die hard Jets fan since the mid 70's. The closest time to this I can recall was Herm/Badway, but most fans hated Herm, and most fans hated Badway. I think some liked them, but nobody really loved those guys.

Rex is truly loved, and it seems Idzik is too, but also both are passionately hated.

And each of those 3 have their fans here who wish he was still here.

Really? Must be the very small minority, I have not seen one real pro Sanchez, Mangini or Tannenbaum thread. A few that have been not terribly negative, or inpartial, but none positive on any of those guys.

Look harder. And put a metal plate behind that bullseye on your back, for your own safety. The angry "those were the days" fans, who despise any/all of the 3 you like, will see this as a challenge.

Outside of that not so stoic guy, I'm not seeing a lot of Idzik hate.

I just woke up... How many games did I miss?

I thought the class of '13 had some key players for the future of this franchise. So far the class of '14 hasn't been "lighting it up" but its August 13th, give me a break.

Oh, you mean there is no evidence either way? Tell me more about this confidence concept.

Isn't industry standard to wait 3 years before truly judging a draft pick/class?

Tell me, is it too soon to call next years 1st round pick a bust?

No, I think it's right on time to believe he's going to be awesome. Not sure why they haven't extended Idzik yet. He's the guy that invented building through the draft. He's like the Bill Walsh of that.

I think you are absolutely right. there is no "hate" for idzik. I certainly don't hate idzik.he has done some good things, but just like any rookie nfl player, rookies are bound to make mistakes.some are just pointing them out, with huge amounts of resistance. but I will tell you this. there is some blind homer love for idzik that I believe is just not warranted at this time

Because this resembles anything that anyone has said anything remotely close to, ever.

PFF ranks the Jets offense 31st and their defense 15th. But hey, they're under the cap by a significant number... isn't that what it's all about? Let's talk about how great Idzik did this offseason with his penny pinching.

For this year?  They haven't even played a game yet.

every one of those top cb's would have doomed the jets to cap hell. absolutely no reason to spend that kinda coin, on any player mind you, witouth a legit franchise qb and knocking on the door of the superbowl. besides, the jets have converted linebacker Antonio allen that can man the position just fine
