You'd think they'd want it to go away.. but the continued denials will make this linger and make the sporting world's memory of this even more negative and durable. 20 years from now when you mention the Patriots, this sad period of corruption and dishonesty will be remembered before anything else. This becomes a footnote in a very successful Hall of Fame career. If he takes on the bunker mentality like some of your more unrealistic fan base and gives the fight a life of it's own? This could possibly be a very big part of what he ends of being known for outside of New England obviously.
