But if we draft a Fields or Wilson at number 2 with this bad team and they never amount to anything better than what Darnold is, we’ve wasted another 3-4 yrs trying to develop a mediocre QB on a bad team. 

I think it depends on whether or not Joe Douglas agrees with you on the QB's after Trevor Lawrence. He might love Fields, or Lance, or Wilson, etc. We don't know.

If he likes another QB in this draft not named Trevor, he has to take him at 2 in my opinion.

Because its not an either/or.  It's both.  You don't end up with the # 2 pick without having bad QB play.  

Both Gase and Darnold suck.  Who sucks worse is irrelevant.  They're both awful at their jobs.

He doesn't need to be fixed. The coaching does. The receivers, the guards do though. Cowher also said yesterday they need to bring Sam back, and pick up his option.

The best part about all of these is that you can go back and find tons of posts from the early days of the Haute Take Boiz telling all of us about how all these moves were awesome when they happened.

He also built legitimate Super Bowl contenders, multiple at that but in typical Jet fan fashion we crap on him.  This is why we deserve to keep losing.
