Is Quinnen Williams getting enough respect?

Recommended Posts

If you are JD, are you:

  • Sad because you are going to have to pay Quinnen alot more money, but happy and confident that money will be well-spent and that Quinnen will help you compete for championships in the coming years?
  • Bummed out because you know what once you pay Quinnen his production will decrease significantly, and on top of that you no longer have the benefit of a rookie QB contract, because, one way or the other, you are going to need another QB.

I am picking Door #2.

We are one dominant DE away from rivaling the Sack Exchange. Can’t double (or triple) everyone.

Saleh still needs his true LEO.

Maybe JJ becomes that but I don’t think so. He’s very good but he’s not Nick Bosa.

J.J is a Shaun Ellis type. Great against run, and will get in backfield on coverage type sacks. We need a Abraham on the other side. A speed guy with some power too.

He sure will when he contract is up.  Question is, who's gonna give the re$pect ??? The Jets or other ???

I’d be shocked if the Jets don’t pay up for him. A dominant defensive tackle who gets sacks is an elite asset. Q has a great attitude and doesn’t strike me as someone who’ll become a dog once paid.

It will be very interesting.  We have not seen an occasion yet where JD either had to reserve significant cap $$$ for a given player or let them walk.  We still don't know.  Is he going to be a "churn and  burn" guy by letting performers walk,  preferring instead to draft potential talent at low costs ???  Or, will he see some players as ones that have to be well compensated ??? My feeling is that the franchise quality QB, star LT, star edge rusher and true shut-down CB are the only ones you pay big money for.

Quinnen is every bit as valuable as an edge player. One could argue even more so since he generates pressure from the inside.
