Wait.....are you saying Zach is getting amongst the most time in the NFL to make his throw (or run)?

That's exactly what the numbers suggest.

And even factoring out the times he runs and/or leaves the pocket, he's still getting 2.7 seconds of POCKET TIME per throw, which ranks 5th best in the league.

To his credit he hasn't run around in circles and pirouetted as much as he did the first 2 years.  He's mostly stayed in the pocket or taken off on the run.

However, QBR takes into account QB rushing #'s, and he's still 26th in QBR....

So it's all bad.

I want to give credit where it's due, Zach's moving up in the pocket to buy time, and his faster "time to run" decision making WERE improvements/positives I saw vs. Dallas.

It's the rest of his play where I didn't see much we haven't seen already.

I should have added that @Dunnie gave him a B- grade for his play against the Cowboys.  That should undoubtedly tilt things heavily in Zach's favor.  Numbers are dumb, throw em out and trust the eye test, babyyyyy

Is there anything more pathetic than attacking a backup QB? move on, hes the backup, backup QBs suck, particularly against really good defenses. You all need to get a life, honestly

Uh actually he's the starter now, and Saleh said he's starting the rest of the season too.  Not sure if you heard the news.

This has much to do with Zach's performance.  Much, I tell ya.

We knew he was bad before the season.   We hoped he would not have to play so it is no surprise at all that he is bad now.

Douglas and Saleh did not get a legit alternative to Rodgers.

The oline is a disgrace.

The oc hire was a joke.

The defense are total underachievers.

No revelation that Wilson is bad and his numbers are bad.

In the end the only purpose of making it all Wilsons fault is that it lets the true people to blame for the state of the team off the hook.  Douglas and Saleh

Hey remember when you used to defend Zach for being 5-2 and for doing so well at avoiding turnovers?

I remember.

Ooooooo, another Zach sucks thread, by…..Jets80 …these threads and posts are like jacking it to the same porn…it gets tiresome and doesn’t provide the thrill that’s needed….

why don’t you enlighten us in what needs to be done w the jets .. why was the D flat? Why does Duane brown suck? Where was McDonald? Is Clemons slow now since he bulked up…what kind of offensive plan was that…

Imagine how much worse these numbers would be if not for Garret Wilson’s insane one-handed TD catch against Buffalo.
But no rush to get a veteran QB in here

Remove that one and he drops to t-28th in TDs and his TD % would drop to 2.1 %, or 28th.

Sounds about right and around where I expect he'll finish the season.

Weird how teams play sh*ttier when they don't believe in the QB (and for good reason).

The whole team would get a boost with a trade for a respected veteran.  I happen to think that's a big part of the "fix".

Much easier to gameplan, too.  And I expect the OL play will improve over the course of the season.  OL play is rough league-wide, so this isn't an isolated problem for us.

Meanwhile, Zach is 5th in pocket time so IS the OL really even THAT bad?

I find his pocket time stat to be flawed. It just doesnt mesh with the eye test.

that must make dak the mN with the most time because he looked like he had wayyyyyy more than zach

If you pay attention around the league, not many QBs are getting much pocket time.

It's not so much that the Jets' OL is doing well, its that OL play is rough around the league.

But, weirdly, QBs out there are still producing!  Truly amazing stuff.

Let's also take some of it with a grain of salt going against 2 top 5 defenses...

I know impossible to argue.. But I think even AR would be below average after those 2 defenses..

Yeah, one of the main consequences of these offenses barely playing in the preseason is that OL play is really bad the first few weeks. The OL play will steadily improve as the season goes on.

Hey, I was all for them getting Brady, out of retirement… what quarterback can we get that would realistically be able to get here? That would really make a difference, that would be realistic…, going to trade for cousins? That’s not gonna happen…

Meanwhile, I will sit patiently and await the next Zach sucks, thread or post,… Because, Lord knows, we don’t know that already…
