Garb
Not sure if you riding a horse makes people love you. It certainly does explain why it smells like sh*t next to each one of your posts though! That's only because JGB recommended some crazy raisin diet. Joe, No I am not kidding. If you really want my explanation, I'll PM it to you. Shasta - Gay humor is actually encouraged here. Jetfan13
Nice to read you again Garb, and yes the level of Green-eye glassess over at JI was wearing thin. You can only get so much out of " Brady is gay!!! & Chad has a noodle arm!!!" threads before it gets tiresome. OH CRAP, THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD!!! 124
Wes Welker isn't a starter, but hes already turning himself into one of the best slot receivers in the game. An added bonus is his ability to kick short range field goals and extra points, return punts and kicks and the fact that he goes all out, even in OTA's and Mini camp's. He was a hell of a pick-up for New England, a stupid trade and huge loss made and suffered by Miami.

Although I think the price was a little high, it was to be expected considering the Pats took him from a division rival. My prediction, Welker will be a third down "go to guy" much the same way Troy Brown was in his prime.

Miami has been known for stupid trades this decade but that was not one of them. A 2nd and 7th rd pick for an average 3rd WR and barely an average return man? are you kiding me? PFSIKH
A stupid trade by MIAMI? Miami has been known for stupid trades this decade but that was not one of them. A 2nd and 7th rd pick for an average 3rd WR and barely an average return man? are you kiding me? A 2nd is what we are really talking about. The Patriots have spent a 2nd on two receivers over the past five years (Bethel and Chad). Neither of which have had the 67 receptions Welker had last year in a season or for their respective careers. Neither had the 29 receptions Welker had as a undrafted rookie free agent. That average "3rd WR" was 31st in the league in receptions. He was 31st with Dante, Cleo and Joey throwing to him. Where exactly is being an average 3rd? With as bad as the Dolphins were they were damn near close to being top 10 in passing attempts. So receptions is a garbage stat in this case. They were losing a lot and throwing the ball. Where exactly is being an average 3rd? it doesn't matter that Ne has struggled w/ 2nd rd Wrs the past few years, that has no bearing on the future. The year before bethel they drafted Deion Branch in rd 2. What if you gave Wes all that money and missed on another Branch? wes is not the type of player that is difficult to acquire. They alreayd have Wtrs as good as him on the roster and tey could have drafted a player and saved $1 mil guaranteed and a later pick. wes was 31st inr ecs b/c Miami threw the ball a million times being behind every game and 90% of his recs were dumpoffs. the man averaged 10 yds per rec. he was nowhere near 31st in yds per, yards and TDs. The man has ONE rec TD in 2 years. He is an average player, easy to find. miami, for once, fleeced another tam instead o being fleeced.

A 2nd round pick for a slot receiver, punt & kick returner, emergency kicker and a guy who works his arse off consistently is not giving up too much. Guess he wasn't too bad to lead the Dolphins in receiving in '07 and you're foolish to think otherwise that with the way he plays that he won't shine in New England. Wes Welker for the 2nd straight year may indeed lead his team in receptions, even with Moss and Stallworth in town.
