Bleedin Green
Blaming Kerry Rhodes for that play is LOL funny. All you have to do is look at the gif and you'll see Revis get burned buy a double move. So, the Jets WR core is better eh? Is that before or after Holmes gets off of suspension? Before or after Edwards drops more balls? Yeah, 3 consecutive 100 catch seasons is pedestrian. Lol, seriously? Not to mention he had Orton throwing him the ball. Sorry, the Jets WR corps IS better than the Dolphins. For starters, talking about Edwards drops makes you look like an ass, considering Marshall's hands are even worse. Secondly, while Marshall is admittedly better than any of the Jets WRs, the Jets have 3 WRs (Cotchery, Holmes, Edwards) who are all better than every other receiver on the Dolphins entire team. The gap between Marshall and those guys isn't anywhere near big enough to make up for that. As far as Revis getting beat by Ginn, as already stated it was one play, get over it. Considering Revis shut down the likes of Moss, TO and Ochocinco, Andre Johnson, etc. its not like all signs don't point to it being a complete fluke. And as much as you can say its not Rhodes fault, while Revis did get beat, if Rhodes isn't so far out of position that ball is never completed, so its not like he doesn't deserve a share of the blame. First off Revis was not playing Ginn man to man it was a quarters zone if you watch the play Revis is back peddling and starring at the QB up until the double move and Ginn ends up catching the ball smack in the middle of Revis's and Rhodes quarter of the field it was just a perfect play call for the D the Jets called on that play if they were man up Henne would never had thrown the ball cause Revis would have had a better chance to catch it than Ginn, props to the phins for calling a perfect play on that D. On another note this is a great move for the Phins IMHO when playing with his head screwed on right he is the best WR in the NFL and he doesnt need a great Qb throwing him the ball he caught 21 balls with Orton throwing it to him in one game that is just amazing, can't wait to see Revis vs Marshall twice a year it is going to be fun. NYJ37/12
Yeah, same issues you guys have with Holmes and Edwards. Did you watch any playoff games? I know your team was watching. Dont compare the two QB's. Henne needs some work. Maybe he can become Sanchez, but not yet.
ZachEY
Dolphins just got A LOT better today. Bringing in Brandon Marshall legitimizes their offense real quick. While I'm still confident the Jets and happy where they are, no Jet fan should be downplaying this move as anything less than huge for them. crashingjet
ginn is a fast motherfu*ker no doubt. marshall doesn't get by revis like that because he's just not that fast. and if you had any reading comprehension AT ALL you'd see i said his y/r were pedestrian assclown, not his number of receptions. learn to read before you post. oh and orton wa sonly throwing him the ball for one season. hye's got a career avg of 12 y/r...which is pedestrian for a #1 receiver. i still think you guys just got yourselves a hell of a receiver but you're still an idiot. oh and there's no doubt the jets wr corps is better than the dolphins' Sorry, the Jets WR corps IS better than the Dolphins. SoFlaJets
Great move by the Dolphins. This gives them a very deep receiving corps with Marshall, Bess, Hartline and Camarillo assuming that Ginn is gone. That's a pretty reliable bunch of WR's to contend with and will really help Henne (who I like). Now if they can ditch that stupid wildcat crap and start playing NFL football. You remember those, where the Jets made it to the AFC Championship game while the Dolphins sat home? After that, his team did absolutely nothing but get worse until today while the Jets got better and better. So, it'd been really rough on him. Now, the Dolphins actually do something, and because he's been so butthurt for months, rather than talk about it like an adult, he's decided to show off what an insecure bitch he truly is and act accordingly. You've got the new 7-6-5 CB, a suspended WR and an aged RB who is on the downside of his career. I think what the Jets have done is exceptional. kicked the sh*t out of? not exactly. barely beat us in the first game and barely gained 100 yds on offense in the second win.....winning the game on an anomally. at no time did you dominate any of those games. One game the Dolphins were LOSING until 8 seconds left in the game, and the second they barely won on the back of Jets horrible special teams play and still were in position to take the lead with under two minutes left in the game if not for some of the worst play-calling ever the second the Jets passed inside of the Miami 10. Aten
I don't follow DVOA stats. Explain? This is an efficiency issue that's so basic that even bringing DVOA into it is really overkill. Marshall's production is only impressive in a vacuum. He was thrown 155 passes last year, 181 the year before, 170 in 2007. He puts up the numbers of an elite receiver but at an opportunity cost that's higher by half.
aec4
I love Marshall and was pushing for us to get him if we where thinking of taking Tate or another WR in the first but honestly the second we got Santonio for a 5th I forgot all about him. I'd rather have Marshall then Santonio but for what we payed and the fact that either of them are a ****up away from a season long suspension I'd say we got a hell of a deal and Miami just made a deal as a reaction to it. Santonio Holmes for 12 games for a 5th round pick and no new contract is a much better deal than Marshall for a 2nd in 2010 and a 2nd in 2011 plus a big contract immediately. Teams with 1 WR do not scare me. Revis removes the WR from the game. It's teams like the Colts that distribute the ball around that scare me. We have Cro now, so maybe that goes away, but 1WR doesn't scare me when the human WR eraser wears #24 and plays for us.
Biggs
The Fins are significantly better with Marshall. Forget that they both caught the Jets during a midseason slump and that the Jets had not come together as a team quite yet. Forget that the Jets were clearly better than both teams in both December and January. Bottom line is they will see how good the Jets really are this fall.
