Bills expect to sign Mario Williams in 24 hours

Wow, Bills are making quite the splash. If they keep it up, AND Peyton ends up in Miami (as has been rumored as to why they traded away Marshall, PM doesn't like him and wants Wayne in his place), the the Jets could conceivably find themselves at the bottom of the division.

Peyton manning, hoopla aside, hasn't played in over a year, had four neck surgeries, is 36 and will be starting in a new system. He's a blindside hit away from being the most expensive mistake of all time.

The bills have Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Peyton will not be starting in a new system. Peyton Manning IS the system. Everything else you said I totally agree with though.

Well then.... everyone else needs to get on his page then. The same learning curve prevails lol

It took him a few years to do that in Indy.

You could refute my post with your opinion. Or you can make a lame attempt to insult with the ever intelligent spygate reference. Funny which one you chose.

Pats went to their 6th Super Bowl last season. Weren't you following football then? How old were your parents when the Jets went to their last SB?

No disrespect to Buffalo, but why would anybody ever sign there unless no other team wanted them? Aren't there about 30 other cities where there's more to do in your down time with a better climate? To each his own I suppose.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I bet buffalo is able to pay him a lot more than Chicago. He'd be the biggest fish in the smallest pond. He would RULE buffalo. There simply is no other reason. There's the slight possibility that he wants to help build something great for a city that hasn't had much success lately..... wait...... no way. It's the money.

Right now Mario is thinking to himself.... I really don't want to play here, but they can pay me like 5 mil a year more than anyone else who's interested. Hmmmmmmmmmmm THIS SUCKS!!!! LMAO!

Detroit and Green Bay I would think are not so fun too. Pittsburgh. Cleveland.

Depends on who the player is. Some players really want to play in markets like NYC, Miami or San Diego, some players prefer more rural like Tenn, Buffalo or Green Bay. I can't imagine who would want to play in Detroit, Cleveland, or Pittsburgh, but i guess that's where the money comes in.

And @mortreport reports the Bills will have a 1:30 press conference to announce the signing of Mario Williams.

Can't wait to see what they have paid him. The fact that he is going to sign with the first team he visited tells me they grossly overpaid him. If he is signed for 15-20 M it is insane.

Williams is a very good player, but he has had 53 sacks in 6 years. Good, but not a major difference maker. Of course if Hunter is the Jets starter he might get that in 2 games this year

We've now entered the third calendar day in which the Buffalo Bills have tried to get free agent defensive end Mario Williams to sign on the dotted line. If he does, Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News reports, citing a source, that Williams will be inking a contract more lucrative than the record-setting deal Julius Peppers got two years ago.

On March 5, 2010, Peppers signed a six-year deal worth $91.5 million that guaranteed Peppers $42 million. It is believed that Williams' deal exceeds the $15 million figure in annual compensation, and it's long been speculated that his guarantees could approach $50 million.

How many times have you been here?

I haven't. I get out and see as much of the world as I possibly can but places like Buffalo don't make the cut. I mean, I may go up there to see Niagra Falls but outside of that, I've never heard of a single thing to do there besides drink, and I can do that anywhere. If you're from up around there, please throw out some tips because if there's something awesome in Buffalo that I'm unaware of, I'll definitely head up that way next time I'm in the US.

See, the people that tell you and other that there's nothing here are the same people who have never been here. It's jut a myth people say when they hear Buffalo. Mario Williams even said that people told him there's nothing here and when he visted he loved the small town feel with great people and actually things to do.

Is it Miami or NYC or Chicago? Certainly not. I don't expect people to plan vacations to our area, but it's really nice, there's lots to do, the food is amazing, the people are exteremly nice and the outdoors are great. The Falls, casinos, nightlife is actually really fun. I moved away and lasted 10 months and moved back.

If you or any Jets fan ever made the trip for a game, I strongly reccomend you PM me and I'd be happy to set you up with great things to do, and even join in and show some of you around. It really is a nice place.

I tend to agree with you for the most part. Buffalo does get a bad rap. It's a "nice" place. However, if I were in my mid-20s and had 100M coming my way, I don't think I'd want to spend my time there. The lack of sun and the snow is enough to make you go "all work and no play". Can't agree with you on the food, but this region is spoiled with the diversity it draws. Also, Mighty Taco sucks.
