The quarterback is 82% of the problem. Tebow will get snaps with the first team offense this week.

no he won't. that just makes things worse. once the real games start, keller gets more plays called for him, and homes gets some big plays for us.

he's got his warts, but right now he is showing up with a knife to a gun fight with the talent around him

And throw balls at WRs feet? If Tebow played better this game it could've happened. Not now.

Tebow looked alright playing with the two's and, if he puts a little more air under that Hill pass, he's on the back page of every paper tomorrow morning. The Jets depth on offense is laughably bad. Don't get me wrong--he sucked after missing Hill there--but he was the better QB tonight, IMO.

The problem is that both Sanchez and Tebow suck. Tebow is 9-22 this preseason. If he was better there would be a legitimate QB controversy.

You 2 watch the games together ? Blaming that mess on the QB is just looking for an arguement. The team stunk and the QB had no chance the only thing was the pick six which was just a bad throw he let go just a little too quick and the route was jumped.

Dude. Are you describing this preseason or his entire 2011 campaign?

I think you watched the game with your buddies Mary Jane and Jim Beam.

And if Sanchez doesn't throw that pick, his numbers are looking pretty good.

Tebow hit 5 of 14 passes tonight. The misses were almost all on him. Absolutely horrible throws, often to receivers less than five yards away. Over their heads or into the ground, didn't matter. He had the advantage of not having to face the jints starting defense, too, while getting to throw to the same receivers the Jets were calling "starters" in this game.

Obviously I mentioned the pick six if you bothered to read. The protection for Sanchez was horrible and he stepped up into the pocket which is what most haters here were calling for him to do and he still got smashed. At least he still completed a high percentage of passes despite the pressure. But no way he can get set and throw down field with that protection. Our Offensive line is a disgrace.

Mark Sanchez made chad pennington look like he throws the ball downfield. It was dump off central.

5-14, bro. 5-14.

Tebow sucked tonight, but at least Sanchez could say he was facing JPP, Tuck, Osi & Kiwi. Tebow threw 2 good passes and then after he Tebowed a throw to Hill into the endzone he was shot. He missed a RB in the flat by 5 feet.

Tebow simply can't complete enough passes.

Even without the pick-6, Sanchez was horrible, and is continuing a trend of not looking like an NFL starter. The pick was an egregious, rookie-like mistake--so much so that he got baited by a rookie corner who seemed genuinely perplexed after the game as to why Sanchez ever threw it to him.

Again, I'm not saying Tebow was even good in his stint, but through two preseason games, he's the only quarterback who's moved the team an inch.

Agreed, he sucked for the majority of his time out there, but he did start out 4 for 5 when he had some semblance of NFL-ish talent still on the field with him. As for giving Sanchez a mini-pass because he played against the first team, keep in mind that Blaine Gabbert shredded the Giants first team D last week.

Sanchez led the offense to -6 points. How much worse will Tebow be?

Nothing has changed from last year except at least in this game Sanchez 'only' gave up 6 points whereas last year he was giving up almost 9 a game-I agree with Tommy here, as bad as he sometimes looks the only chance this team has is with Tebow under center and making hay on runs when the OL doesn't do it's job-like it never seems to be able to do. Nothing looks any different from last year-the offense can't make a 1st down and the defense can look really tough but eventually wears down-standing up on the playing field for 20 minutes on every drive while the O goes 3 and out time and time again is a formula for a top 10 draft pick in April

Without that pick, Sanchez is 9/10 for 59 yards. That's without 2/3 of his top WRs, the only one he had is a rookie. That's good enough to win if they can get the running game going, and the defense is as good as advertised.

Tebow moved the ball with those same receivers against the jints twos, with much better protection against a lesser front seven, but the longer he was on the field, the worse he got.

If we're going to parse, one of Sanchez's passes went for 12 yards, which means he threw 8 other passes for 47 yards total, which amounts to ~5 ypc. You're not winning sh*t with that sort of anemic passing game. And regarding not having Holmes and Kerley, how relevant is that really when you consider how ineffective Sanchez was last year when they were healthy?

In the fourth quarter, Tebow was on the field playing with guys who don't belong in an NFL training camp. You want to give Sanchez a break for getting stuck with Hill and Turner, but you want to turn around and disparage Tebow's performance when he's out there trying to complete passes to immortals like Wes Kemp and Royce Pollard, both of whom will be working at UPS in two weeks.

That argument would be significantly more effective if Tebow was throwing anything after his first five passes that was even remotely catchable.

So what's Brett Ratliff, Cokehead Ainge & Mac's excuse for lighting it up in the 4th quarter preseasons past with UPS players?

Tebow is a first round pick and, presumably, should be light years better than everyone on the field by that time. He should be having 70 yd TD passes and 70 yd TD runs. In other words, against UPS players, he should be Cam Newtoning it in the 4th because, you know, he's Tim Tebow.

What do you think Sanchez would look like in that fourth quarter, playing behind Robert Griffin and Caleb Schlauderaff, throwing to Royce Pollard?

Again, I'm not making the case that Tebow is a good QB. The part you're quoting is pointing out that slats gives Sanchez a pass for not having Holmes, but submarines Tebow for having a dropoff when the fours came on.

How do you think Sanchez would look playing with the same receivers, behind most of the same OL, and playing against the jints twos?

This game works both ways.

Because he's Tim Freaking Tebow. He should be better than everyone on the field. He should be breaking every tackle. You telling me that a UPS driver has the strength and determination to tackle a rock solid 250 lb Tim Tebow?

Hill played most of the game, BTW. Hill has great separation against 2nd & 3rd team defenders. Against 1st, not so much. Tim Tebow just needs to will defenders off of him, flick his wrist and throw bombs to Hill.

Heck, Jordan White, Sanchez' current starting slot receiver, played in the 4th and is a good target. Tim Tebow should be firing lasers to him on slants that go 30 yds a pop.

Why? Because Tim Tebow is throwing to him.
