rox
-- At the New York Jets' home base in Northern New Jersey, the Trader Joe's is always open for business. General manager Joe Douglas has made 14 player trades in his 28 months on the job, an unusually high number even in a league that recently began to embrace the idea of dealing veteran players. All told, he has moved or acquired 15 players, sixth-most in the NFL since June 2019, according to ESPN Stats & Information. With his track record, it wouldn't surprise anyone if he makes a move before the league trading deadline next Tuesday. -- https://www.espn.com/blog/new-york-jets/post/_/id/87985/new-york-jets-gm-always-looking-to-deal-14-player-trades-and-counting

Imagine that.

For all that crap Joe Douglas received the following: Bradley McDougald, 2020 3rd Round Pick, 2021 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th round picks, 2022 1st, 2nd, two 4ths, 5th, and a 6th. With the 2020 3rd round pick (Giants) JD Drafted Ashtyn Davis - not looking great we'll see if he can get & stay healthy. With the 2021 1st and 3rd round picks (Seahawks) he moved up to get AVT - has been a solid guard this season With the 2021 5th round pick (Giants) JD drafted Michael Carter II - who has been a solid CB2 this season and one of the top rookie corners. With the 2021 6th Round Pick they moved up to get Jason Pinnock - who's meh. So for basically Leonard Williams (only one traded away doing anything) we got Ashtyn Davis, AVT, Michael Carter II (CB) and Jason Pinnock plus 2022 1st, 2nd, two 4ths, 5th, and 6th round draft picks. Sign me up for that.

He's doing fine which considering what we gave up is the least you'd expect for an interior lineman taken so high. It was a safe player but an expensive one.

Claymation
How can 14 trades be unusually high when it’s the 6th most in the league during the same duration?
varjet
If I was a GM I would be careful about trading players who signed with you as a FA, unless they agreed or requested it. I think that is a good way to discourage FAs from signing with you. Who cares about draft picks.
