Saleh ~ “DRs have not cleared Zach yet”

Unfortunately true. The previous comment someone made about the doctors needing to “clear him per the CBA” is ridiculous. Any player can play on Sunday with any virtually any injury if they’re willing to play with some pain and discomfort. We’ve seen players limping out there many, many times. If Zach wants to play, it’s a simple one line statement “I’m fine, leg/knee feels good, I’m ready to play”.

The season is teetering, the franchise QB should be eager to play.

By literally EVERY account he does want to play and this is a team decision.

But as long as it fits the NJ narrative - then let's run with it as fact.

Can anybody blame Zach for preferring his own doctors?

The Jets’ medical staff over the years…

At the end of 2021 my cardiologist discovered I had a leaky heart valve.  Sent me to the surgical staff he’s affiliated with who said I needed to have it replaced.  I also went to a surgeon pretty much all of my Drs recommended, and I have quite a few.  I liked him, I went with the Dr everyone recommended.  Even if my original cardiologist was pissed, it’s my choice.  Why should a player go to a team doctor when they have access to all the best specialists in the country?  This is a non issue unless you’re just lookin to bitch

It’s a known fact in the medical community that the team doctor actually pays the team to be their doctor.   All so he can represent himself as the team doctor when performing overpriced orthopedic surgeries to patients looking to say they had their surgery by the jets team doctor.  It is not only a players right but I would argue prudent to search for the best in their required specialty the same as anyone else in the world who possesses the resources to do so.   And based on history I wouldn’t  send my dog to the team doctor to check out an injured tail.   He’d come out blind in one eye and missing a leg.

On a secondary note I saw sterling shephard blow out a knee untouched on the last play of last nights Giants game.   There is something wrong with that field.   If I was a player I would not be happy to be playing my games on that surface.  I don’t care what the league says too much evidence to the contrary to be just bad luck or a coincidence

We’re now in a fantasy world where a player with a knee injury, who had surgery doesn’t need clearance to play?  All he has to do is say “put me in coach”?  After surgery?   LOL.  It’s like a movie.  Player has surgery and limps onto a field and wins one for his teammates.

Say whatever you like about Wilson as a QB or drafting him but accusing him of being soft, not working hard is pretty weak.  Nothing about him points to someone who isn’t itching to get back in.

Unfortunately Shephards injury history kind of points to his body being the issue, not the turf.  Knee injuries suck but they happen.

This type of stuff breaks a locker room. If Wilson's dictating when he wants to play based on a doctor in California then this regime is done. Woody's fault at the end of the day allowing this crap to happen. Communication from Zach's camp to the Jets I'm sure has been poor, which is why Saleh looked like lost when he initially announced him out for a month.

This is unreal.  I'm so sorry I defended any of these freaking morons.  The incompetence is at an all time level.

Do we know if/when the Jets doctors cleared him?

I guess we’d have to define what cleared means anyways. At this point you’d have to guess it’s a pain tolerance thing.

Curtis Martin played with a cracked spine.  Richard Todd played with broken ribs.  As have others.  How many players have you seen get knee surgery and play when their doctors say no?  Some injuries have little risk of further injury and it’s a matter of pain management.  I surgically repaired joint need stability or it fails.  This is a pretty simple distinction.

Here's what's happened - and the team has been very clear about it - I'm not even sure why this even a point of contention.

  • Out of an abundance of caution the team wants Zach to be 110% (whatever that means) this is the same injury that took him out last year - so they want it to get to 100%...
  • Zach wants to play - Zach himself, players on the team, media and even our sources on JN have acknowledged this - as a 2nd year guy as very little to say about it - so he's being a team player.
  • My guess, Zach could have played week 2 - and been cleared to play - but the Jets want that 100% clearance before letting him play.  So they're waiting for the 100% clearance.

The key point here is this isn't Zach dictating when he plays and when he doesn't...this is a team decision with which Zach has no say.

No I agree Zach isn’t dictating anything

Its his team of doctors controlling the ship: direct words from the HC that you and @Jet Nutare trying to spin around

Don’t worry I’m sure this goes over well in the locker.

Yeah but you cant take any of this serious knowing now that it's Zach's Dr.'s holding him out.

I love you and @FidelioJet

but damn it really look crazy they way you 2 are twisting yourselves into pretzels defending this weak QB

@Jet Nut wake up and smell the coffee this regime is terrible and the QB a proven pussy at this point

Look, you're wrong here.  All logic points to the reality.  Explain to me this..

1) What leverage does Zach Wilson have to dictate when and when he plays?

2) What has Zach Wilson showed in the past that he's selfish in any way? In fact he's been the complete opposite.

3) Why is it in Zach's best interest not to play? Why would he keep himself out of games?

4) So what you're suggesting is Zach Wilson, has been cleared to play but is refusing to do so - and his teammates, that are all out busting their asses are still 100% fully supporting him - not even a single leak to the media, suggesting Zach is being selfish.

You see things you want to see - but everything coming from the team and media all explain the real situation and all logic aligns with that position.

The anti-Zach brigade has moved on from him just being a bad football player - it's now he's a bad person.  Silly really.

And your self-righteousness about people disagreeing with your illogical position, is, and I apologize, disgusting.

No shlt, the doctors are the ones controlling the timeline of his return to the field.  There’s no spinning by anyone but you and the others who just can’t seem to accept that and want to turn it into something larger.  And of course concerning.

Mac Jones doctors will tell the pats when he will return too guys

Mac Jones will do whatever Bill Belichick tells him to do

Jones would be playing a double OT game in the path of a tornado right now if BB gave the order

Joking aside, I think players typically listen to whatever the team doctors advise

When I see Justin Herbert and Jameous playing through severe injuries and minor surgery Zach has a team of doctors dictating things to the team , it looks funny I’m sorry

Is Zach a bad person?
How would anyone here know this? (Including you)

I thought Watson was black Jesus but I was terribly wrong

Besides Saleh is the one who let the cat out the bag with this his doctors crap and you can tell that he’s obviously annoyed

This seems like a real reach....

Huh?   When a player goes into the tent, do you think they're calling their own doctor or are they being treated by team doctors?  How are you not seeing the difference here?
