A team should never pick a RB top 20.  Particularly if they just used a high 2 on one the prior year.

And why is that?  Because RBs get hurt and are almost never worth a 2nd contract.

You don’t take guys with an average shelf life of 2.5 years with premium selections.  Ever.

Exactly. Premium draft selections are meant for more important things like box safeties.

Becton going to injure himself walking to the Buffet Table during camp, miss the whole year.

Neither LT or RT but BT

Wouldn't be surprised if he gets in the Hall as a BT

Agree. With the recent success of first round WRs, thought someone would take a shot earlier. @AFJF speculated he’d be around during Jets pick…. I thought no way.

And they just saw Garrett Wilson and Olave look like ten year pros from that same system. There’s gotta be something we don’t know.

Disagree. It depends on the situation and player. It all analytics gone haywire. If you grade a RB that high take him. It does not matter if it is 15 or 22.  Polian thinks that and he is right. Also running backs project better than the other premium positions you are referring to so even from an analytics standpoint where 50% of first rounders disappoint even the analytics suggest it is not a bad move. You should not reach for a RB but not taking him for some misguided view of value is just wrong.

are we there yet?

If memory serves, we agreed to wait for September, correct? Today is August 20. 😜

He’s survived about 5 weeks of camp, and what 50 snaps? Let’s not go all “Darnold is dropping dimes” just yet. Let’s see if he survives September.
